On the afternoon of May 24, Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong - Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee received and worked with the commanding officers of the HNLMS TROMP escort ship of the Royal Netherlands Navy.
At the meeting, Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong shared that Hai Phong City and Rotterdam City (Netherlands) have established a cooperative relationship quite early thanks to their geographical similarities and being important port cities of each country.

Up to now, the total capital of FDI projects of Dutch investors in Hai Phong City is over 300 million USD. The main investment areas include: Shipbuilding, manufacturing of marine machinery and equipment, warehouse leasing, production of animal feed, aquaculture feed, and trading.
Regarding exchange, cooperation and trade promotion, from 2008 to present, Hai Phong City has organized 4 delegations to visit, study and learn experiences in developing marine economy, seaports and services related to seaports in the Netherlands.
In response, the Netherlands and Rotterdam City organized more than 10 delegations to visit and work, learn about the city's investment environment as well as promote cooperation in the fields of shipbuilding, aviation, maritime, logistics...
In addition to local cooperation, Hai Phong universities also carry out many cooperation activities with Dutch research institutes and universities in the fields of training - teaching and manufacturing container ships.

Lieutenant Colonel Yvonne ban Beusekom - Captain of the Royal Netherlands Navy's HNLMS TROMP corvette expressed her good impression of the beautiful and friendly city of Hai Phong.
This visit aims to demonstrate the goodwill to strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two countries in general and the two armies and navies in particular. At the same time, it promotes friendly exchanges, enhances cooperation, understanding and trust, in line with the framework of the Vietnam - Netherlands Comprehensive Partnership.
Lieutenant Colonel Yvonne Ban Beusekom shared that during the visit from May 24 to 27, the delegation will visit the Command of Vietnam Navy Region 1. Officers and sailors of the ship will have friendly sports with officers and soldiers of Vietnam Navy Region 1.
During this time, the delegation of the Royal Netherlands Navy's HNLMS TROMP Corvette will also visit a number of famous historical and cultural sites in the locality .
