*Pig price in the North:
The price of live pigs in the North is continuing to increase rapidly. This morning, this region recorded an additional price increase in: Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Vinh Phuc, Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh.
Currently, Ninh Binh and Lao Cai are the two provinces with the lowest transaction price in the region, reaching 62,000 VND/kg. The remaining localities are buying and selling at a difference of about 63,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.
*Pig price in the Central Highlands region
After many days of stable prices, the price of live pigs in the Central Highlands region today fluctuated slightly in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, both reaching 62,000 VND/kg. This is also the highest selling price in the region.
The price of live pigs in the remaining localities in the region is fluctuating between 58,000 - 61,000 VND/kg. Of which, 4 provinces recorded prices below 60,000 VND/kg: Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak.
*Pig price in the Southern region
In the same upward adjustment direction, the Southern region increased one price in Ben Tre, reaching 60,000 VND/kg, the same price as Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, An Giang and Bac Lieu.
Traders in the remaining provinces and cities purchased live pigs at 61,000 - 62,000 VND/kg. Of which, Dong Thap, Can Tho and Soc Trang had live pig prices of 62,000 VND/kg, the highest in the region.
*According to the report of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Yen Bai, the total number of main livestock in the province is estimated at more than 865,000, reaching 99.2% of the 2024 plan , of which the buffalo herd is more than 100,000, cows are nearly 42,000, pigs are over 720,000, and poultry is more than 7.5 million.
The output of fresh meat of all kinds in 10 months reached 67,390 tons (equal to 89.9% of the 2024 plan). Some local specialty livestock products with high economic value exceeded the set plan, such as: nearly 160,000 highland specialty black chickens, more than 92,000 local pigs, and more than 142,000 Lam Thuong ducks.
Faced with the complicated developments of epidemics and natural disasters, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has directed functional units to closely coordinate with localities to propagate and mobilize people to implement measures to prevent and control epidemics, especially to control foot-and-mouth disease and African swine fever.
From now until the end of the year, the market demand for fresh meat will increase, the risk of disease still has many potential risks, so the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Yen Bai will strengthen coordination with the facilities to recommend farmers to develop livestock farming in the direction of bio-safety and environmental protection.
Organize vaccination, provide disinfectants and check business conditions and trade of veterinary drugs according to regulations.
