Nearly 1,000 safe food supply chains
Over the past years, the rice chain of the Doan Ket Agricultural Production and Business Cooperative (Ung Hoa district) has been increasing the value of Ung Hoa rice. Director of the Doan Ket Agricultural Production and Business Cooperative Cao Thi Thuy shared that the cooperative has focused on producing Japonica rice and high-quality rice according to export standards, with an area of 100 hectares.
To build a sustainable production model, helping rice farmers increase the value, the Cooperative has signed contracts with more than 2,000 households in the area to purchase 100% of the products. The Cooperative also cooperates with Chau Anh Company Limited to build and manage nearly 20 rice retail stores in Hanoi; distribute to rice agents in the provinces: Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho... On average, each crop, the Cooperative consumes about 3,000 tons of paddy and 1,000 tons of Japonica rice for farmers at stable prices.
As a company supplying a large amount of seafood to Hanoi, Director of Cuong Thinh Construction and Service Company Limited (Hoa Binh province) Pham Van Tinh said that in order to sell products in supermarkets and restaurants in Hanoi, the company has invested in building a supply chain for Da River fish products that meet VietGAP standards; at the same time, building a certification label for Da River fish and shrimp products - Hoa Binh. Thanks to that, each year the company supplies about 500 - 600 tons of various types of fish, mainly for the Hanoi market and is trusted by consumers for its quality.
Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Ta Van Tuong informed: Up to now, Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment and 43 provinces and cities are maintaining and supporting the development of nearly 1,000 safe food supply chains for the city.
Safe agricultural products of provinces and cities are strictly controlled from production to preliminary processing, processing and product consumption. Quality is guaranteed, so it is highly appreciated by businesses and convenience stores.
Maintaining stable production and consumption chains of agricultural products between Hanoi and other provinces and cities not only helps the city to be most proactive in providing agricultural products and food to the people of the capital, but also helps farmers and businesses increase their income. The agricultural economy of Hanoi and other provinces is increasingly developing, especially green economy, circular economy, digital agriculture...
Building an e-commerce platform network
Linking production and consumption of agricultural products is suitable for current development conditions. Because, through linkage, many cooperatives and agricultural production enterprises in Hanoi maintain growth, without the situation of "good harvest, low price"; the source of agricultural products is abundant and quality is guaranteed; the e-commerce platform for agricultural products between Hanoi and other provinces and cities is more developed.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment will continue to coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade in monitoring and closely following the situation of supply and demand, prices, and commodity markets in Hanoi to promptly respond in case of market fluctuations. At the same time, it will strengthen supervision and traceability of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products from provinces and cities brought to Hanoi for consumption.
Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Ta Van Tuong
However, according to the assessment of Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien, the linkage between production and consumption of agricultural products in Hanoi is not deep and not sustainable, requiring closer cooperation between provincial and municipal authorities and local enterprises. In addition to signing cooperation agreements, localities need to develop specific support mechanisms for enterprises from other provinces who want to invest and link production and consumption.
According to Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Ta Van Tuong, in order to promote linkages, in recent years, Hanoi has regularly exchanged information, introduced addresses of production, preliminary processing, and processing facilities that meet food safety conditions to connect the consumption of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products; supported, promoted, introduced, and promoted the consumption of products with strengths of localities in the capital... However, in reality, there have not been many strong agricultural product chains in the process of linkages between Hanoi and provinces and cities.
Regarding the solution, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen said that Hanoi will work with provinces and cities to identify strengths, shortcomings and limitations in each agricultural sector to form in-depth links. In particular, according to the 2024 Capital Law, the city is encouraging businesses to invest in agriculture.
Hanoi hopes to work with other provinces and cities to build a modern e-commerce platform network to meet the production and consumption needs of agricultural products of businesses and farmers. On the other hand, Hanoi and other provinces and cities will also promote market analysis and forecasting, quality control, booth support, trade promotion, etc. to make them more effective.
