Coffee prices in the Vietnamese market have remained above VND100,000/kg for nearly a year, and this trend is expected to continue as supply shows no signs of improvement.

According to Mr. Trinh Duc Minh, Chairman of Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association, "coffee prices remain high mainly due to supply and demand factors, in addition to the influence of the world economic and political situation."

Coffee production in Brazil is being affected by drought, while in Vietnam, the recent harvest recorded a 10-15% decrease, leading to a decrease in inventories.

Forecasts from the Brazilian Coffee Industry Association (ABIC) show that global coffee prices may continue to increase in the coming time. The reason comes from the fact that this country has experienced 4 consecutive years of difficulties due to extreme weather, negatively affecting production and exports.

Currently, the coffee harvest in Brazil is still a few months away, while Vietnam will enter the harvest at the end of this year. According to Mr. Trinh Duc Minh, coffee prices are likely to remain high throughout 2025.

After the Tet holiday, farmers in Dak Nong are preparing for the pepper harvest. This year, pepper prices have shown many positive signs, expecting a bumper crop. This is also the locality with the largest pepper growing area in the country.

In addition to maintaining output, Dak Nong is promoting the application of high technology in production in key specialized areas.

In recent years, pepper cultivation in the locality has seen many positive changes, towards organic and sustainable development. In particular, Dak Nong pepper products have been granted geographical indications, contributing to increasing export value.

In the coming time, to ensure quality and meet international market standards, farmers need to continue applying safe farming models and limit the use of pesticides.
