About 190 km west of Thanh Hoa city, Bo Cung limestone cave is located in Chanh village, Son Thuy commune, Quan Son district, Thanh Hoa province. The cave is considered as "the second Son Doong in Vietnam" with the majestic beauty and colorful stalactite system in the cave.

Bo Cung Cave was discovered by the people of Chanh village, Son Thuy commune, Quan Son district in 2008. Bo Cung Cave is over 1km long, with many different caves. Inside the cave, there are many stalactites of different colors, sizes and shapes, many stalactites resembling Buddha statues, pillars supporting the sky, eagles, chandeliers in magnificent castles, and winding streams of hair of girls.

Follow the path on the slate rocks, climb up the mountainside about 40m to reach the cave. Bo Cung Cave is more than 1km long, 30 to 50m wide, with ceilings varying in height from 30 to 50m. The entire cave is divided into 10 large and small caves.
From the cave entrance there are countless stalactites.
These 10 caves are home to thousands of "works of art" with majestic shapes created by nature, like a harmonious combination of sculpture and painting, majestic and strong, blending with poetic charm. The stalactites here are not only static works of art but always change shape and color depending on the viewing angle, creating unusual scenes.
Bo Cung Cave is about 1km long, with chamber systems hundreds of square meters wide.
The stalactites are of various shapes and sizes. Some places are clustered together, so close that they seem to be piled on top of each other from afar. Some places have stalagmites standing horizontally and vertically, alternating with each other, creating long lines on the cave floor. Some places have stalactites hanging down from the ceiling like large screens. Some stalactites are square-shaped, with open doorways that look like palaces shimmering in the marble colors of the rocks.

In 2009, Bo Cung Cave was ranked as a provincial-level scenic relic of Thanh Hoa. According to experts who have researched and explored, Bo Cung Cave was formed about 4 million years ago, is 420m above sea level, and is 1,078m long. It has many beautiful stalactites and stalagmites.
Potential for tourism development
Currently, Quan Son district is promoting propaganda on mass media about the tourism potential of the district in general and Bo Cung cave in particular. In addition, the district has directed Son Thuy commune to strengthen the management of Bo Cung cave, avoiding damage to the relic.
Currently, there are many groups coming to visit and learn about Bo Cung cave.
Son Thuy Commune People's Committee said: Recently, the number of tourists visiting and experiencing Bo Cung cave has increased. In particular, since the discovery of the new cave, the number of tourists has increased rapidly. Along with strengthening security measures at the relic site, Son Thuy Commune also directed functional forces to protect the newly discovered cave, not allowing tourists to enter to ensure safety.
Many people are amazed by the magnificence, beauty and mystery of the stalactites in Bo Cung cave.
Around this relic site, there is also Xia stream and a system of beautiful and majestic caves such as Bo Cung cave, Co Lay cave, Luon Lang cave, La Hoa mountain... this is an important premise to turn Bo Cung cave into an attractive tourist destination for tourists when coming to Quan Son district.
