Celebrating longevity is a fine tradition of the Vietnamese people, demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree", as well as respect for the elderly, filial piety, gratitude to grandparents and parents. This also demonstrates society's concern for the elderly, strengthening village and neighborhood ties. Longevity celebrations are often held solemnly, civilly, and economically by localities on the occasion of the traditional New Year at the committee headquarters or village and hamlet cultural houses. Going to temples at the beginning of the year is one of the indispensable habits and cultural activities of the people of Hong Kong (China). These days, temples and pagodas in Hong Kong are filled with incense smoke and the flow of people coming to pray is extremely crowded, the authorities have to separate lanes to avoid congestion.
