Exciting Vietnam-Japan Cultural Exchange Festival at the Diplomatic Academy

Within the framework of the event "50 years of Vietnam - Japan: Crossing the East Sea to welcome the Sun", on October 7, the Diplomatic Academy organized the Vietnam - Japan Bunkasai Cultural Festival and the Raienbashi Art Gala Night 2023.

The Vietnam-Japan Bunkasai Cultural Festival at the Diplomatic Academy is a cultural experience playground open to all students in Hanoi. Here, participants have the opportunity to learn and interact at Japanese folk game booths such as shogi, go, kendama, kendo; at the same time, wear the traditional yukata of the cherry blossom country and experience the culinary culture of Vietnam-Japan.

Within the framework of the Vietnam-Japan Bunkasai Cultural Festival, a seminar on Ikebana flower arrangement took place with the participation of two artists: Ms. Pham Thu Nga - Head of the Sansenryu School (Son Xuyen School) in Hanoi and Ms. Mamiko Katayama - flower arranger, Principal of the Isetan Shinjuku French Palace Flower Arrangement Academy, and also the representative director of the Musee d'art Floral Co. Ltd.

Under the guidance of two artisans, 40 students of the Diplomatic Academy directly practiced flower arrangement and created impressive vases, containing the gentle and unique beauty of Ikebana art.

In an interview with The Gioi & Viet Nam Newspaper, Ms. Mamiko Katayama said that the Japanese people have been attached to the art of Ikebana since ancient times and this art has gradually become an essential part of the traditional culture of the Land of the Rising Sun. She herself felt very happy when seeing the radiant faces of the Diplomatic Academy students attending the seminar and hoped that the event would inspire young Vietnamese people to learn about Japanese culture.

By the end of the day, the 2023 Raienbashi Art Gala Night was vibrant with the performance of 8 unique traditional Vietnamese-Japanese art pieces. Under the professional evaluation of 6 judges, the 3 best teams won valuable prizes.
