In 2024, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment focused on land allocation, land lease, and issuance of land use right certificates; actively implemented the creation of clean land funds to meet the land use needs of enterprises; advised on the effective implementation of mineral and water resource licensing; promoted inspection, examination, timely detection and handling of many cases. Performed well the work of environmental impact assessment and issuance of environmental licenses; performed well the work of receiving people and resolving complaints and denunciations.
The Department has also focused on promoting administrative reform, focusing on consulting, developing and submitting to the Provincial People's Committee for promulgation of administrative procedures (AP) in the field of natural resources and environment. In 2024, the Department received 49,131 applications for handling AP in the field of natural resources and environment, of which 47,173 applications were handled (47,030 applications were handled on time, reaching a rate of 99.7%); focusing on resolving the situation of overdue AP files, in order to create favorable conditions and satisfaction for businesses and people when carrying out AP in the field of natural resources and environment...

In 2025, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment will focus on disseminating and popularizing the 2024 Land Law and documents guiding its implementation; completing the draft and submitting it to the Provincial People's Committee for approval of legal documents under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of the 2024 Land Law; appraising the adjustment of district-level land use planning and the 2025 district-level land use plan; appraising land allocation, land lease, and land use right certificate issuance dossiers of organizations and individuals; participating in appraising land use needs and land lease conditions for investment project implementation.
Continue to guide the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to implement regulations on compensation, support and resettlement when the State acquires land in Quang Tri province according to the 2024 Land Law after it is promulgated by the Provincial People's Committee; perform the task of developing a price list of land types in Quang Tri province.
Organize appraisal of environmental records according to regulations; review and propose solutions for operating facilities that have not completed environmental licensing procedures after January 1, 2025.
Advise on propaganda, dissemination and implementation of the Law on Geology and Minerals 2024 and documents guiding its implementation; implement the next steps to organize auctions of mineral exploitation rights according to the 2024 mineral exploitation rights auction plan... Do a good job in the field of integrated management of seas, islands and water resources; inspection, examination, settlement of complaints and denunciations.

Speaking at the conference, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong emphasized that the Department of Natural Resources and Environment needs to carry out the key task right now, which is to implement the central government's policy on streamlining the organizational structure of the Natural Resources and Environment and Agriculture and Rural Development sectors at the provincial and district levels in the direction of leanness, effective and efficient operations, ensuring immediate operations, without interruption or impact on socio-economic development.
Urgently urge localities to complete and submit adjustments to district-level land use planning and land use plans for 2025 to ensure consistency with the provincial planning approved by the Prime Minister and the local socio-economic development situation.
Focus on implementing land inventory and building a map of current land use status in 2024. Further strengthen the management, exploitation and use of mineral resources according to planning, ensuring maximum promotion of mineral values and resources for socio-economic development associated with environmental protection.
Focus on managing, protecting, and sustainably exploiting water resources, ensuring water security and minimizing causes of water pollution; organizing the implementation of solutions to protect the environment and respond to climate change.

On this occasion, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment awarded certificates of merit to 9 individuals; the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 3 collectives, 6 individuals and the title of Excellent Labor Collective to 13 collectives; the title of Provincial Emulation Fighter to 3 individuals for their outstanding achievements in 2024.
