Thai Hoa Palace has a majestic appearance after being restored.

This project not only serves the conservation work but also aims at digital transformation of heritage, helping to authentically recreate and preserve cultural values through digital platforms. This is an important premise in preserving and promoting Hue heritage to domestic and foreign tourists.

The 3D scanning and digital photography of Thai Hoa Palace will last until the end of 2025; the database construction process will be completed in June 2026 according to Vietnamese and international standards.

Thai Hoa Palace is the most important, majestic and magnificent architectural work in the Nguyen Dynasty Royal Palace, symbolizing the power of the court. This is not only an architectural work, but also a place to preserve the literary and poetic system in the unique decorative form of "one poem, one painting" which has been recognized by UNESCO as a Documentary Heritage under the Memory of the World Program in the Asia-Pacific region.

The project to preserve and restore the Thai Hoa Palace relic was started in November 2021 with a total investment of nearly 129 billion VND. After 3 years of construction, at the end of November 2024, the project was completed 9 months ahead of schedule and became a must-see destination for visitors to Hue Imperial City.

According to the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, Thai Hoa Palace was built by King Gia Long in 1805 in the Dai Cung Mon area. In 1833, King Minh Mang rebuilt the structure in its current location. This is where the Emperor sat on the throne, held court sessions, grand ceremonies and important rituals, marking the ups and downs of the 13 Nguyen Dynasty Emperors.
