(Dan Tri) - A 10th grade male student in Dak Nong had to be hospitalized after his hand was blown to pieces, suspected to be due to making homemade fireworks.
On the morning of December 13, a leader of Nguyen Tat Thanh High School (Dak R'lap district, Dak Nong) said that the school had reported to the Department of Education and Training about the case of a student who had an accident with exploding firecrackers.
That is the case of N.D.T. (class 10A3).
A student in the Central Highlands was hospitalized after a large explosion suspected to have been caused by homemade fireworks (Illustration: Uy Nguyen).
According to the school leader, at first the parents called and asked the homeroom teacher for permission for T. to be absent from school because he had an accident, but did not specify what the accident was.
"After that, through gathering information, the school learned that the student had an accident with a firecracker. The incident happened in Hung Binh village (Dak R'lap district), not at school," said the leader of Nguyen Tat Thanh High School.
According to a source, the incident happened at T.'s home. At the time of the accident, T.'s father was home. After a loud explosion suspected to have been caused by making fireworks, T. lost his right hand. He was given first aid and transferred to Ho Chi Minh City for emergency treatment and surgery to amputate his hand.
It is known that during the Lunar New Year, many students often order explosive materials online and often learn how to make fireworks. Many of these explosions have caused serious injuries to students.
To limit the number of firecracker injuries among students, education authorities have repeatedly warned, but this situation still occurs.
