Samsung demonstrates transparent MicroLED display

According to Neowin , transparent displays are not a new thing and Samsung has been trying to improve it since the company first announced it in 2015. With the new transparent MicroLED display, Samsung promises to bring a superior user experience when compared to competitors.

Samsung notes that the technology works by having a thin, glass-like display with tiny MicroLED chips and a precision manufacturing process that eliminates seams and light refraction. The company promises to deliver clear, unobstructed images in all situations for both home and commercial use.

“Combining superior craftsmanship with six years of tireless research and development, this new modular Micro LED impressed attendees with its futuristic design. The crystal-clear display of Transparent MicroLED revolutionizes the viewing experience and captures the attention of global consumers,” Samsung said in a statement.

Furthermore, the Korean company also confirmed that the display will come in a variety of sizes, allowing users to customize the shape and size to suit their needs. After years of research and development, the company was able to place the circuits that operate the LED chips directly on the glass, thereby minimizing the loss of brightness that users may experience with conventional displays.
