Saigontourist Group, Vietnam Airlines pioneer in launching Vietnamese destinations in China

The program is part of a series of key activities on marketing promotion and attracting international visitors of Saigontourist Group and Vietnam Airlines in 2024, aiming to continue to recover and expand the source of international visitors, exploit cooperation opportunities, especially with key international visitor markets after a period of being severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and senior officials from Vietnam, China, Vietnam Airlines and Saigontourist Group pressed the button to open the event on the morning of April 9 in Beijing.

The event was honored to welcome the presence of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, government officials of Vietnam and China, along with the participation of representatives of leaders of Vietnamese provinces and cities, major tourism and aviation businesses of Vietnam and China, and media agencies of the two countries. The event was highly appreciated by the leaders of the two countries and the business communities of the two countries.

In this program to launch Vietnam's destinations in the Chinese market, Saigontourist Group focuses on implementing working contents with leading Chinese partners to promote and connect the development of two-way tourism services between Vietnam and China, especially exploiting opportunities to connect and expand the luxury segment and MICE tourists in this billion-people market. In addition, Saigontourist Group and Vietnam Airlines simultaneously signed cooperation agreements with large Chinese enterprises with the expectation of bringing in hundreds of millions of USD in additional revenue for all parties in the coming time, along with two-way marketing and promotion activities.

Mr. Dang Ngoc Hoa, Chairman of Vietnam Airlines, said: "Currently, Vietnam Airlines operates flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to destinations in China such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and more than 20 individual airports in China with a total of 66 flights per week. During the 30-year journey connecting the two countries, Vietnam Airlines has served nearly 12 million passengers and more than 166,000 tons of cargo on flights."

The signing ceremony between Saigontourist Group, Vietnam Airlines, Bejing Cosmo Travel International was witnessed by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and senior officials from Vietnam, China, Vietnam Airlines and Saigontourist Group.

Mr. Dang Ngoc Hoa, Chairman of Vietnam Airlines and Mr. Truong Duc Hung, General Director of Saigontourist Group presented lucky gifts to the winners including Vietnam Airlines air tickets and luxury rooms of Saigontourist Group.

At this event, Saigontourist Group authorized Saigontourist Travel Service Company (a subsidiary of Saigontourist Group) and Vietnam Airlines to sign important cooperation agreements with Chinese partners. Accordingly, the Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between Saigontourist - Vietnam Airlines and Shanghai Boxi Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. includes important contents such as: Coordinating the implementation of charter flight services provided by Vietnam Airlines to Shanghai Boxi; cooperating in marketing and promoting car rental services to customers; jointly exploiting new charter routes and markets; cooperating in organizing events, festivals, and tourism fairs in Vietnam and China; providing promotional packages of Vietnam Airlines, Saigontourist and Shanghai Boxi for Vietnamese and Chinese tourists. It is expected that in the next 5 years, this cooperation will bring an additional revenue of 150 million USD for the three units.

Next, at the Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony between Saigontourist - Vietnam Airlines and Beijing Cosmo Travel International Co.LTD , the participating parties focused on implementing the cooperation contents, including: Charter flight services provided by Vietnam Airlines to Beijing Cosmos Travel International; cooperation in marketing and promoting car rental services to customers; exchange of technical and operational knowledge to improve service quality and efficiency; jointly exploiting new charter routes and markets; cooperation in organizing events, festivals, and tourism fairs in Vietnam and China; providing promotional packages of Vietnam Airlines, Saigontourist and Beijing Cosmos Travel International to Vietnamese and Chinese tourists; and other forms and contents of cooperation according to the needs of the parties. This cooperation is expected to bring an additional revenue of 150 million USD for the three units in the next 5 years.

Following the event in Beijing, on April 10, 2024 in Shanghai, Saigontourist Group participated in meeting partners and promoting its brand at the "Legal Policy Forum to promote economic, investment and trade cooperation between Vietnam and China" co-organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam in coordination with the Shanghai International Trade Promotion Committee (China).

Also according to Mr. Pham Huy Binh, Vietnam destination promotion program in Chinese market co-organized by Saigontourist Group and Vietnam Airlines, marking a new step in the comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two sides, continuing the cooperation activities that have been successfully implemented in recent times, typically the Vietnam - US two-way tourism investment promotion program in the US in 2022, the Vietnam destination promotion program in Japan in 2023, co-participation in the WTM London International Tourism Fair 2023 , ITB Berlin International Tourism Fair 2024 ... Saigontourist Group and Vietnam Airlines promote cooperation with the aim of contributing to tourism development, enhancing promotion and marketing of the image of Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam in key markets around the world, increasing the attraction of multinational international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam, and recovering international tourist markets in the post-Covid-19 period.

Over the past decades, China has been an important international tourist market for Vietnam tourism as well as Saigontourist Group. According to statistics, in the first 3 months of 2024, there were 890,000 Chinese tourists traveling to Vietnam, an increase of 634.5% over the same period in 2023.
