Drug rehabilitation facility after 1 month of transferring management tasks

From March 1, the Provincial Police Department officially took over the task of state management of drug addiction treatment and post-treatment management transferred from the Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs. Determining this transfer as a strong reform to close the process of preventing, combating and managing illegal drug users, the Provincial Police Department has directed professional units to closely coordinate in implementing work contents to ensure the highest efficiency.

At the time of transfer, the Drug Rehabilitation Center had 415 students. Immediately upon receiving the Center on March 1, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of the Provincial Police assigned student management staff to coordinate with doctors and nurses to take care of and closely monitor the condition of each student. On March 18, realizing that the health condition of student Nguyen Van Tang, in Lap Thach district, was abnormal, showing signs of poor eating and sleeping, reduced mobility in both lower limbs, exceeding the treatment capacity of the center, the Drug Rehabilitation Center arranged student management staff, doctors and nurses to take student Nguyen Van Tang to Vinh Phuc General Hospital for examination. The results determined that the student had suffered a traumatic brain injury due to a previous history of traffic accidents. After timely emergency surgery, student Tang has overcome the critical stage, and his health condition is temporarily stable.

Not only student Nguyen Van Tang, more than 400 students who are undergoing drug rehabilitation or temporarily staying at the Drug Rehabilitation Center are all strictly managed, ensuring the prescribed regimes.

The provincial police have also arranged appropriate forces to strengthen and tighten the work of ensuring absolute security and safety inside and outside the drug rehabilitation facility; strictly carry out inspection and supervision work to ensure that the activities of the rehabilitation facility operate according to a closed process, preventing criminals from taking advantage of loopholes to bring drugs into the facility, contributing to building a safe and healthy social environment./.
