Solemnly organized the 50th Anniversary of Binh Dinh Province Liberation Day

Tonight (March 30), at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square (Quy Nhon City), the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province solemnly held the 50th Anniversary of Binh Dinh Province Liberation Day (March 31, 1975 - March 31, 2025).

This is a political-historical event of special importance to the entire Party Committee, government, army and people of Binh Dinh province.

Attending the ceremony, on the Central side, there were leaders of the Party and State: Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Party Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission; Nguyen Duc Hai - Party Central Committee member, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.

Also attending were representatives of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and representatives of leaders of Central Committees, ministries and branches; armed forces: Military Region 5 Command, Military Region 1 Command, Navy Command, Coast Guard Region 2 Command, Navy Region 4 Command, Division 3, Division 307, Veterans Liaison Committee of Division 3 Sao Vang.

Also attending the ceremony were leaders of the provinces and cities: Hoa Binh, Ha Tinh, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Kon Tum; Binh Dinh Association in the provinces and cities, businessmen and intellectuals who are Binh Dinh people living and working outside the province.

The opening speech presented by Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung at the Commemoration Ceremony reviewed the heroic revolutionary tradition of the Party Committee, army and people of Binh Dinh in the struggle for national liberation and homeland construction after the liberation day.

During the resistance war against the US to save the country, with an important strategic position as the gateway connecting the South Central region and the Central Highlands, Binh Dinh was the final gathering point of the South, so the US and puppet regime always considered Binh Dinh a key area in their war strategies. It can be said that there is no place in Binh Dinh that does not have traces of the enemy's crimes.

Under the leadership of the Party, directly by the Zone V Party Committee and Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, promoting the Tay Son uprising tradition, the army and people of our province heroically rose up to fight the enemy to liberate the homeland. With the motto of combining political struggle with armed struggle, conducting three-pronged attacks in all three strategic regions, the army and people of our province contributed to completely defeating the US imperialists' strategies of unilateral war, special war, local war and Vietnamization of war, achieving glorious feats of arms.

In particular, in the historic March days 50 years ago, the army and people of our province launched a general offensive to liberate Quy Nhon City and Binh Dinh Province in the spring campaign of 1975. After 28 days and nights of continuous attacks and uprisings, continuous fighting and victory, at 8:00 p.m. on March 31, 1975, the victory flag of the army and people of Binh Dinh fluttered on the roof of the lobby of the Saigon puppet government's Administrative Building, marking a great moment in the history of our province: Binh Dinh Province was completely liberated, ending the nearly 21-year long and arduous resistance war against the US to save the country in Binh Dinh homeland.

The victory on March 31st liberating Binh Dinh is a shining symbol of patriotism and indomitable spirit, a wonderful heroic epic of the noble sacrifice and steadfast revolutionary will of our army and people; is the result of our Party's skillful war leadership and direction; is the result of the lightning-fast, daring, unexpected, and sure-to-win attack of the people's armed forces; of the strong, fierce, and widespread uprising of all classes of people in the province; makes an important contribution to the victory of the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign, creating the great victory of the Spring of 1975, bringing the long march full of sacrifices and hardships for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland to final victory.

Five decades have passed, but the glorious memories of a heroic struggle have not faded in the memories of every Binh Dinh citizen. Our generation today and future generations will never forget the images of party cadres, heroes and martyrs whose names were famous on the battlefields of Binh Dinh, with their extremely brave actions, contributing to the history of our province.

Secretary Ho Quoc Dung affirmed that, inheriting and promoting the indomitable tradition of the heroic homeland of Binh Dinh, right after the liberation day, together with the whole country, the Party Committee and people of Binh Dinh embarked on the task of healing the wounds of war and rebuilding the homeland.

In particular, in the past 10 years, the province's socio-economic development has been rapid. The province's economic growth rate has averaged 7% per year; the scale of the economy has been constantly expanding, from a poor province, it has now risen to rank 5th out of 14 localities in the North Central and Central Coast regions, and 25th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide. The economic structure has shifted positively; tourism has developed strongly, gradually becoming the province's spearhead economic sector; Quy Nhon - Binh Dinh has become a famous destination at home and abroad. Quy Nhon City has been honored twice as "ASEAN Clean Tourist City". Socio-economic infrastructure has been focused on investment, gradually synchronized and modernized.   The province’s development space is increasingly expanding, its potentials and advantages are increasingly exploited effectively; the appearance of urban, rural, and mountainous areas is increasingly renewed and flourishing. The lives of people in the province are increasingly improved and enhanced.

Along with socio-economic development, the Party Committee always focuses on building and consolidating an increasingly strong, streamlined, effective and efficient political system. Political security, social order and safety are maintained; national defense and security are consolidated and increasingly solid. Foreign affairs activities are enhanced, expanded, and deepened, contributing to promoting and enhancing the position of Binh Dinh land and people. The people's mastery in all fields is respected and promoted. People's trust in the leadership of the Party and the management and administration of authorities at all levels is increasingly enhanced.

With achievements and feats in the resistance war against the US to save the country as well as in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, the army and people of Binh Dinh were honored to be recognized, highly appreciated and awarded the Gold Star Order by the Party and State, the most noble Order of our State.

Delighted with the results the province has achieved, proud of the glorious past of the homeland, Binh Dinh sees more clearly its responsibility to continue to strive to rise up, overcome difficulties and challenges, join the whole country in successfully implementing the new revolution and entering a new era. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung called on all levels, sectors, cadres and people in the province to promote the glorious revolutionary tradition, be of one mind, unanimous, united, and together overcome all difficulties and challenges, with practical actions contributing to building the homeland of Binh Dinh increasingly prosperous and beautiful.

First of all, it is necessary to continue to reorganize the apparatus and administrative units according to the direction and orientation of the Central Government with a spirit of utmost urgency but must ensure quality; must build a "lean - compact - strong - efficient - effective - effective" organizational apparatus, build a team of dedicated, qualified cadres, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, know how to devote themselves to the common cause of the Party and the people; selecting and arranging new administrative units must ensure space for development, promote the potential and strengths of each locality...

In economic development, it is necessary to closely follow and well implement the growth pillars and breakthroughs that have been identified, especially mobilizing and effectively using all resources to develop socio-economic infrastructure; focusing on effectively exploiting opportunities and achievements of the fourth industrial revolution; promoting science and technology development, accelerating the digital transformation process, promoting innovation, etc.

Economic development must be associated with solving social problems well and with ensuring national defense and security, maintaining political stability and social order and safety.

Continue to focus on caring for and comprehensively improving people's lives; build mechanisms and policies for social development, prioritize policy beneficiaries and vulnerable groups in society, and resolutely "leave no one behind" so that the province continues to be and increasingly becomes a livable place, and the people of the province become increasingly prosperous, happy and prosperous.

In today's celebration and forever, the people of Binh Dinh will forever be proud of their sons who sacrificed their lives for the Fatherland, fought bravely to reclaim every house, every street, every residential area in the midst of an extremely fierce battlefield. It can be said that every road, every street corner, every village, every hamlet, every mountain, every river of Binh Dinh is soaked in the blood of countless heroic martyrs, shining with the glorious feats of our army and people. This pride and shining glory forever belong to our beloved compatriots and soldiers - the people who made the victory.
