The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said it is coordinating with other units to organize a series of tourism events to celebrate the New Year and the peak of the 2024 Lunar New Year. These days, not only domestic but also international tourists are bustling as the city is at its peak period attracting foreign tourists.

Many new activities to serve the people

At Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Area (HCMC), more than 150 entertainment facilities have completed renovation, quality upgrade, and new construction investment to meet the needs of tourists during Tet.

According to Ms. Bui Thi To Trinh, Deputy General Director of Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Area, the spring festival will take place from February 10 (the first day of the Lunar New Year) with a series of unique entertainment programs such as: lion - unicorn - dragon dance, EDM water music at Tien Dong beach, parade show "New year prosperity and fortune - Twin dragons bravely bring lasting wealth and nobility"...

Dam Sen Cultural Park will organize a series of events with the theme "Tet Dam Sen - Tet back to childhood" from February 9 to 18. Visitors can watch the fireworks display on New Year's Eve at Dam Sen with a flat ticket price of 70,000 VND. On this occasion of Tet, Dam Sen also launched the Tra Hoa Vien space located in the middle of a cool blue lake - visitors can enjoy tea, listen to melodious music from the zither, bamboo flute...

The Da Nang Department of Tourism said that the Dragon Bridge's fire and water spraying program will be held continuously on the nights from February 9 to 13 (ie from December 30 to the 4th day of Tet). The Han River Bridge will be opened to traffic on the nights of the 1st and 2nd days of Tet. Asia Park offers free admission and organizes the "Happy Tet Market" from the 2nd to the 10th. Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park organizes the Than Tai festival from the 1st to the 5th.

To increase the attractiveness of Hanoi tourism, the Hanoi Department of Tourism has developed a plan to organize the event "Hanoi Tourism Welcomes 2024 - Get on Hanoi 2024" and the 2024 Friendship Spring Tour program. Contributing to enriching Hanoi's tourism products, the Hanoi Monuments and Landscapes Management Board launched the night tour product "Ngoc Son - Mysterious Night" at Ngoc Son Temple. The highlight of this tour is the combination of the ancient architecture of the special national relic Ngoc Son Temple and the rituals and folk legends passed down at the relic.

Bustling international tourism

Da Nang Department of Tourism estimates that the total number of visitors and tourists during the Lunar New Year 2024 will reach nearly 362,000, an increase of 23% over the same period in 2023. Of which, international visitors are estimated to reach 172,000.

Da Nang International Airport said it is expected that from February 8 to 14, there will be about 894 flights to Da Nang, an increase of 16% compared to last year. On the first day of Tet, the city will welcome the first international flight from Don Mueang - Thailand operated by Vietnam Airlines. International visitors to Da Nang by sea during Tet are also bustling. From February 7 to 14, there were 3 cruise ships arriving at Tien Sa port carrying a total of 3,400 Chinese visitors to visit tourist attractions in Da Nang City.

On the afternoon of February 1, many large travel companies in Ho Chi Minh City such as Saigontourist Travel, Vietravel, TSTtourist, Vietluxtour Travel, and Kiwi Travel are preparing for the peak tourist season during Tet.

Mr. Pham Quy Huy, Director of Kiwi Travel Company, said that there are quite a lot of tourists in groups going on vacation tours combined with year-end summaries, many of which have itineraries until December 25 and 26 to many destinations across the country. In particular, this year, Tet tours to Japan, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan (China)... have received much attention because tour prices have not increased sharply and destinations are diverse.

Saigontourist Travel Company will welcome about 28,000 tourists during the Lunar New Year. Of which, domestic tourism serves 256 groups, an increase of 30% and foreign tourism serves 198 groups, an increase of over 50%. The company also recorded positive signals from the international tourist market with cruise tourism with the voyage to Vietnam of the Celebrity Solstice carrying 2,300 tourists and crew members... During the peak of the Lunar New Year, domestic tourism at Saigontourist Travel recorded Vietnamese tourists and a large number of overseas Vietnamese returning home to explore the three regions of their homeland.

Do not raise prices arbitrarily

Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that the department has issued a document requesting travel agencies, tourist areas and destinations to focus on welcoming tourists in conjunction with stimulus programs. Do not arbitrarily increase the price of tourist tours and prices of services provided to visitors; limit the postponement and cancellation of tourist tours...

"Tourist attractions in the area such as Dam Sen, Suoi Tien, Thao Cam Vien... need to proactively develop plans to coordinate with functional agencies and local authorities to ensure security and safety for tourists, and prevent pickpockets and robberies," said Mr. Hoa.
