On the morning of April 6 (the 9th day of the 3rd lunar month), the traditional rowing tournament of Viet Tri city opened at the lakeside of Van Lang Park (Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province).
Traditional swimming competition to celebrate Hung Kings' death anniversary
According to records, from early morning, despite the cold weather and drizzle, thousands of people and tourists from all over the country flocked to Van Lang Park Lake to watch and cheer on the racing teams. The festival was filled with a vibrant atmosphere with the resounding sound of drums and gongs, bustling cheers and the vibrant colors of flags and flowers, when the Traditional Rowing Tournament of Viet Tri City officially opened.
The rowing tournament has the participation of 9 teams with 270 athletes from 5 districts and cities of Phu Tho province. The teams start at 7:30 am and will finish the race at 10 am on the same day.
This is one of the outstanding cultural and sporting activities to celebrate the Hung Kings' death anniversary. The Viet Tri City rowing competition is not only a sporting event, but also an activity to honor the national spirit, to evoke memories of the time when our ancestors rowed boats across rapids to protect the country, and is also an opportunity to connect the community and spread the traditional values of the land of our ancestors.
