Exciting contest of wrapping Chung cake, pounding Giay cake, displaying offering trays to King Hung

Provincial Party Committee member, District Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Thi Xuan Hoa delivered the opening speech at the contest of wrapping Chung cake, pounding Giay cake and displaying the Hung King's Commemoration Ceremony tray in 2025.

The contest of wrapping Chung cake, pounding Giay cake and displaying the offering tray for Hung King's death anniversary in 2025 had 10 participating teams. In a joyful and warm atmosphere, from careful preparation, as soon as the Organizing Committee gave the command, the teams and the district leaders performed pounding Giay cake, displaying the offering tray for Hung King, wrapping and cooking Chung cake.

From available "homegrown" materials combined with creative thinking, ingenuity, and quick movements, the teams displayed beautiful offerings shaped like dragons, unicorns, turtles, phoenixes..., solemn and meaningful.

Having participated in the beautiful tray decoration contest for many years, Ms. Hoang Thi Huyen Trang, representative of Phu Rieng commune, said: "I am very happy and honored to continue to represent Phu Rieng commune this year to participate in the beautiful tray decoration contest. From typical local fruits such as cashew, pepper, melon, grapefruit... we have created the mascots of dragon, unicorn, turtle, and phoenix to offer to King Hung with the wish for a peaceful and prosperous year."

Wrapping and cooking banh chung is the competition that received a lot of attention at the contest. In a space imbued with traditional features, restored in the style of the countryside, the experienced contestants created cakes that were not only square, sharp, beautiful, and of suitable size, but also imbued with the flavor of their homeland, offering them to the Hung Kings with the wish for a year of favorable weather, peace, and happiness.

Participating in this year's banh chung wrapping and cooking contest, Ms. Ngo Thi Yen, Phuoc Tan commune, Phu Rieng district, excitedly said: "Coming to this year's contest, we have prepared very carefully, the contestants coordinated smoothly, creating the most delicious and beautiful cakes to offer to King Hung.

The contest of wrapping Chung cake, pounding Day cake and displaying the Hung King's Commemoration Ceremony tray is an annual activity, an opportunity for the people of Phu Rieng district to express their gratitude to their ancestors. At the same time, they preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the Vietnamese people.

Mr. Tran Xuan Hanh, a resident of Phu Trung commune, said: Phu Rieng district is fortunate to have the Hung Kings Temple, where every year people have the opportunity to return to their hometown to bring incense, flowers, and offerings to pay their respects to the Hung Kings. The activities have demonstrated traditional beauty, imbued with Vietnamese culture, contributing to fostering love for the homeland and country.
