Launching the platform "Farmer Network - Digital Farmer Journey"

On the morning of October 21, in Can Tho City, the Center for Digital Transformation and Agricultural Statistics (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), World Software Technology Joint Stock Company (Worldsoft) and Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper held the Launching Ceremony of the platform "Farmer Network - Digital Farmer Journey".

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Duong Tan Hien, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee and leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Association of the Mekong Delta region.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Toan, Director of the Center for Digital Transformation and Agricultural Statistics, said: “Farmer Network - Digital Farmer Journey” is a common platform, creating a useful “playground” for farmers. Through this, farmers and businesses provide input and output of agricultural products, share and provide data for mutual development. The Farmer Network is a specific action contributing to digital transformation in the field of agriculture and rural development.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan shared: “The Farmer Network demonstrates an open mindset, contributing to solving the pressing issues of Vietnam's agricultural sector through the pressing issues of farmers. Don't leave people alone on their "oasis". I am also very excited when for the first time there is an event with only three words "Farmer Network", but full of emotions, aiming at a goal, with great spreading value. Let's look at the common core values to cultivate the network to become better and more useful, reaching more farmers".

“Farmer Network” is a digital environment and integrates many system tools to help cooperatives, farmers, farms, and businesses in the agricultural sector manage effectively, grasp scientific knowledge in a timely manner, optimize input materials, and create conditions for access to credit capital.

Especially helping farmers to be proactive in buying and selling, planning production and monitoring financial plans. Farmer network, aiming to create a space for sharing and connecting farmers and experts; planning productivity forecasts; accessing capital effectively. Farmers and cooperatives will be trained, coached... to easily access the platform without any usage fees.

In 2023, the Farmer Network platform was deployed at Tan Tien Cooperative, Vinh Long Province. It is expected that by the end of October 2023, the platform development units will coordinate with the Tien Giang Farmers' Association to train 1,300 farming households in the province.
