The satellite school of Son Nguyen Kindergarten is about 10 km from the center of Son Hoa district, many items are damaged and seriously degraded.
The school is located in Nguyen Xuan village, Son Nguyen commune (Son Hoa district), 10 km from the district center. The school was built in 2006 with an initial scale of a common classroom of about 50 m2. In 2015, the school organized boarding so it built a warehouse and a dining room for students and teachers.
To date, many items at the school have degraded, such as the foundation sinking; the rotten roof beams are repaired every year to ensure safety. In addition, the surrounding cement walls are cracked and unsafe.

Ms. Vo Thi Nguyet Thu, principal of Son Nguyen Kindergarten, said that in 2020-2021, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and prolonged storms, the building deteriorated more severely. "There were times when teachers and students were taking a nap when the classroom roof collapsed. To ensure safety, students and teachers had to switch to teaching at the village cultural house," Ms. Thu said.
In September 2022, the school received a budget of 17 million VND to repair the school.

The school currently has 31 students of the Cham, Hroi and Kinh ethnic groups and two teachers. Most of the students' families are farmers and are in difficult circumstances. Many students do not have money to pay tuition, so many times teachers have to deduct money from their salaries to temporarily pay. "There are only two cases of special difficulties so the school does not collect money," said Ms. Thu.
Mr. Hoang Vu Anh, Head of the Education and Training Department of Son Hoa district, said that the district has 36 schools, including 14 kindergartens. Over the years, the school system has been gradually invested in, but it is still not enough. The kindergarten in Son Nguyen commune, one of the most disadvantaged areas in the district, has degraded and is no longer safe.
"The local budget is limited so it cannot be invested comprehensively. This school is currently only temporarily repaired and is unsafe," said Mr. Anh.

After surveying and learning about the school's wishes, the Hope Fund - VnExpress newspaper plans to sponsor the construction of a new classroom with a closed-off toilet.
The school will have a main classroom and a multi-purpose room (no kitchen because meals will be transferred from the main school). The total value of the project is about 900 million VND. Readers can see information about the program here.
