On August 26, in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh held a conference to summarize the 2023-2024 school year, deploy tasks for the 2024-2025 school year; evaluate the results of 1 year of implementing Directive 38-CT/TU dated September 5, 2023 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee "on strengthening the leadership of the Party and the management of the State in improving the quality of general education in Quang Ninh province for the period 2023-2025, with a vision to 2030 and deploying tasks for the 2024-2025 school year".
The 2023-2024 school year has passed, but the results of Quang Ninh education have marked an unprecedented breakthrough and growth, the greatest miracle of the industry ever.
100% of the annual targets of the education sector of Quang Ninh province were achieved and exceeded, many of which far exceeded the set targets. The rate of schools meeting national standards reached 90.5%, 31% higher than the national rate, reaching the target 2 years ahead of the target set by the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term. The rate of mobilizing preschool children to attend class reached 95.1%; the rate of primary school students studying 2 sessions/day reached 94.58%; the high school graduation rate reached 99.18%; the literacy rate was 99.77%...
In the results of the national high school excellent student exam, Quang Ninh ranked 8th for the first time in the top 10 provinces and cities with the highest percentage of excellent students in the country. Notably, this year, Quang Ninh province has the highest ranking since the ranking of average high school graduation exam scores of localities nationwide, with an average graduation exam score of 6.67 points; ranked 25/63 provinces and cities nationwide, up 11 places compared to 2023 and up 25 places compared to 2020.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Cao Tuong Huy, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, commended and acknowledged the achievements and results, and expressed his respect and deep gratitude for the efforts and dedication of generations of teachers, managers and employees of the province's education sector in the past school year.
The education sector must continue to promote digital transformation in management and teaching; encourage the development and exploitation of big data and appropriate artificial intelligence solutions in education and training. At the same time, strengthen the education of revolutionary ideals, political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle for managers, teachers, lecturers, staff, students, and trainees; promote and improve the quality of emulation movements in the entire sector, striving to have 2 cities participating in UNESCO's "Global Learning Cities" network by 2025.
On this occasion, many collectives with outstanding achievements were honored to receive various forms of rewards. Hon Gai High School was awarded the Second Class Independence Medal. Many collectives with outstanding achievements in the 2023-2024 school year received Emulation Flags, Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee; Certificates of Merit from the Department of Education and Training.
