Attending the workshop were Standing Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Phan Thai Binh and more than 100 delegates from state management agencies, businesses and community tourism organizations, domestic and international sustainable tourism experts.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thanh Hong said that over the past 3 years, thanks to the active support from the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the Swiss Sustainable Tourism Project in Vietnam has helped Quang Nam become the first province in the country to issue and implement the application of a set of green tourism criteria applicable to 6 models including: Resorts, hotels, homestays, travel agencies, tourist attractions, and community tourism attractions.
Over the implementation period up to now, in Quang Nam province, there have been 25 tourism enterprises in the fields of accommodation, tourist attractions, and travel businesses that have been granted green tourism certification by the Provincial People's Committee with levels 2/3 and 3/3 of Ngoc Linh ginseng leaves.

Speaking at the workshop, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Thai Binh emphasized that the workshop is an opportunity for relevant parties to review the positive and negative aspects in the process of developing green tourism in Quang Nam and where it is currently on the general tourism development map of Vietnam and the world.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Thai Binh requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to fully absorb and synthesize opinions and recommendations from experts, businesses... participating in this workshop to advise the Provincial People's Committee to continue directing the implementation of promoting green tourism in Quang Nam to develop more effectively and extensively in the coming time.

At this workshop, the Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation and Development of Tourism in Hoi An-Dien Ban-Duy Xuyen (Quang Nam Province) and the coordination agreement between the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Nam took place.
According to the signed Memorandum of Understanding on Association and Cooperation in Tourism Development in Hoi An-Dien Ban-Duy Xuyen (Quang Nam Province), the parties cooperate in four main areas: Cooperation in building mechanisms and policies for local tourism management and development; cooperation in developing tourism products; cooperation in promoting and marketing tourism, training tourism human resources; cooperation in exchanging information on tourism development.
Cooperation period between the three localities from now until 2030 (phase 1) and phase 2 from 2030 to 2035.
According to the coordination agreement, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade to exploit and promote the potential and strengths of the trade, service and tourism sectors of Quang Nam; build and affirm the brand, attract tourists for mutual development, and increase the competitiveness of destinations in the context of globalization and international integration.
The two sides will coordinate in 9 contents, notably: coordinating to promote and advertise tourism associated with developing points to introduce and promote specialty products, OCOP products, local gift products, rural industrial products; coordinating to form a chain of centers for tourist souvenirs and local specialties.
At the same time, coordinate the development of shops and stalls at tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants, create shopping areas and night markets near tourist areas and attractions to serve the shopping needs of tourists; coordinate the development of traditional craft villages associated with tourism; promote craft village tourism programs; advise on preferential policies, invest in infrastructure development for craft villages participating in tourism development...
