On March 29, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches organized the festival For a green Son Tra. This is an annual activity for the past 14 years (since 2011) to promote and raise awareness among people and tourists about protecting Son Tra Peninsula - the "green lung" of Da Nang City.
The program is chaired by the management board, in coordination with clubs, teams, and volunteer groups in the Central region, and has increasingly received the participation of tourists, including foreigners, in preserving biodiversity, wildlife, and maintaining green destinations for sustainable tourism development.

Nearly 1,000 volunteers cleaned up the Son Tra peninsula both on land and underwater along Le Van Luong Street, Green Lake, Linh Ung Pagoda, Bac Beach, paragliding beach, Tho Quang beach...
The management board has also prepared gifts to give to volunteers who collect a lot of trash in the trash-for-gifts program.
Accordingly, 2 kg of plastic waste or 5 kg of other types of waste will be given a pot of succulents or vouchers to use tourism services of businesses in Da Nang beach.

At the North Beach area, volunteers exhibited photos of "Son Tra - Green Destination" and workshoped "Red-shanked douc langur - Pride of Da Nang City".
The images aim to promote the harmful effects of feeding monkeys, the consequences on the health and natural behavior of monkeys when they get used to eating human food, and encourage tourists to not litter and clean up after visiting, limiting plastic waste.
In particular, at the entrance to the Ban Co peak area of Son Tra peninsula, where billionaire Bill Gates once visited and enjoyed tea, volunteers planted 50 more sim flowers. When the trees grow, they will create a landscape for the area.
As Thanh Nien previously reported, Son Tra peninsula used to have many sim trees. Da Nang City has also planned, renovated, planted new and added many areas to create a sim flower road, serving the people and tourists.
After billionaire Bill Gates visited Son Tra Peninsula, this tourist destination has become increasingly popular with international visitors. Da Nang City has also attracted new tourism products such as inland waterway ports, upgraded infrastructure, reviewed and stopped inappropriate projects, and opened up new investment resources.
