(QBĐT) - Every time the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month comes around, the spirit of turning towards the homeland in Quang Binh is clearly demonstrated through many meaningful activities. Each activity and each story contributes to arousing national pride, connecting the consciousness of turning towards the origin in the hearts of the people of Quang Binh.
"Meeting point" towards the homeland
Together with the people of the whole country, every year when March comes, the sectors and localities in the province organize many practical activities towards the land of the Hung Kings. In particular, on the 10th day of the third lunar month, at the Traditional House of the Banyan Tree - Ong Pagoda, Dong Hoi City solemnly organizes activities to commemorate the merits of building and defending the country of the Hung Kings. The provincial leaders and many people of the city and tourists attend.
With sacred respect, the leaders of the province, Dong Hoi city, representatives of departments, branches, organizations and people of the city respectfully offered incense to commemorate and express gratitude for the contributions of the Hung Kings and previous generations in building and defending the country.

Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Dong Hoi City Party Committee Le Thi Thu Cuc said that after the incense offering and offerings to commemorate the Hung Kings, many cultural and physical activities took place with exciting performances of traditional arts, martial arts, folk games, and a photo exhibition of "Dong Hoi past and present". The activities are integrated into the city's annual Culture-Tourism Week, creating more highlights and impressions in the hearts of tourists from all over the world; creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere among the city's people; contributing to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural beauty of the nation and deepening the attachment to the homeland and the Fatherland.
Towards the homeland, on this occasion, many schools in Dong Hoi city in particular and the whole province have also had activities such as: Seminars, organizing for students to decorate their own fruit trays, make banh chung, banh day... to educate the national historical tradition, the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree" so that students are more deeply aware of their personal responsibility to the historical roots, to the homeland, the country; remember the advice of President Ho Chi Minh: "The Hung Kings had the merit of building the country, we, Uncle and nephew, must work together to protect the country".

Towards the homeland, connecting fellow countrymen
Every year, on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month, amidst the hustle and bustle of life in a foreign land, the children of Vinh Phu (currently the two provinces of Vinh Phuc and Phu Tho) far from home remember the Hung Kings' death anniversary. No matter where they are making a living, they always remember their roots, the sacred ancestral land where the Hung Kings built the country. The same is true for the Vinh Phu Association in Quang Binh. Even though they are hundreds of kilometers away from their homeland, they still organize meaningful activities together to honor their roots. For them, the death anniversary is not only a holiday, but also a bond that connects generations of Lac Hong descendants with their ancestors and the sacred values of the nation.
Mr. Le Duc Thanh, Deputy Head of the Vinh Phu Association in Quang Binh, said: After 29 years of establishment, the association has gathered nearly 200 members from old to young with the purpose of meeting, exchanging, helping each other develop the economy, and encouraging each other in times of difficulty and adversity. And every year, on the 10th day of the third lunar month, the association organizes the death anniversary of the ancestors to offer incense and report to the Hung Kings the results achieved after a year of efforts.

“As always, the first meaningful activity we organize is to prepare fruits, incense, banh chung, banh day to burn incense at Cay Da-Chua Ong (Dong Hoi City), where the land, water and incense pots are worshiped, which are relics brought back from Hung Temple in 2002. Respectfully offering incense to the Hung Kings, we review the tradition and history of the Hung Kings' founding of the country, remember our roots to show gratitude to our ancestors, the predecessors who founded the country and encouraged each other to develop the economy, maintain solidarity, and together build a new homeland that is increasingly developed, worthy of being children of the land of our ancestors,” Thanh shared.
After the incense offering at Cay Da-Chua Ong, the northerners who are living, studying and working in Quang Binh, the land of Lao wind and white sand, gathered together to recall their childhood memories, memories of their homeland and stories about their journey to establish a career in Quang Binh. For them, this is a special occasion, an opportunity to strengthen their fellow countrymen's solidarity and preserve the traditional culture of the nation.
Being away from home on the anniversary of the death of the ancestors, everyone feels moved. They always wish to return, to stand before the Hung Temple, quietly offer an incense stick, and whisper a prayer. Although each person has their own life, a different direction, on the anniversary of the death of the ancestors, all share the same sincere heart, turning towards the homeland. They not only preserve the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" but also contribute to passing it on to the next generation, so that the precious values of the nation will never be lost.

The Hung Kings' death anniversary (the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month) has long been a major holiday in our country. This is an opportunity for the Vietnamese people in general and the youth of Quang Binh in particular to express their deep affection for the great contributions of the Hung Kings and previous generations in building and defending the country.
On the occasion of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, the Quang Binh Provincial Youth Union will organize the "9th Quang Binh Province Uncle Ho's Good Children Congress, 2025" to honor the achievements of 84 delegates who are outstanding team members and children in studying, training and actively participating in the Team's work in the period of 2020-2025. In this series of activities, delegates will visit, offer incense, report their achievements at "red addresses" in the area, inaugurate youth projects, participate in social security activities, and experience creativity.

In addition, the Provincial Youth Union has also focused on promoting the meaning of the holiday; promoting the emulation movement of youth union members to contribute 20,000 working days to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for policy families and people; and undertaking the construction of 100 houses for ethnic minority households...
To be worthy of being descendants of the Hung Kings, Quang Binh youth have previously had many meaningful activities. From 2024 to present, the Provincial Youth Union has focused on political and ideological education for young people; promoted "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle"; educating revolutionary traditions, patriotism, and national pride for young people. During the year, the whole province had over 47,000 young people participating in the journey to the source. The Youth Union force presented nearly 3,500 gifts with a total value of over 2.2 billion VND to policy families and meritorious people...
The youth movement to protect the environment, volunteer activities, and volunteer to protect the Fatherland has been effectively implemented. Promoting the tradition of patriotism, building and defending the country of the Hung Kings and previous generations, from 2024 to present, thousands of young people in the province have joined the army to protect the Fatherland...
