Ninh Thuan determined to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses before May 31, 2025

On the afternoon of April 8, 2025, comrade Tran Quoc Nam - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses (Steering Committee) chaired the second Steering Committee meeting to listen to reports from sectors and localities on the implementation of the Program for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in the province in the past time and tasks for the coming time. Attending were comrade Le Van Binh - Member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee - Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, members of the Steering Committee and Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts and cities.

According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment - the Standing Agency of the Program, on the basis of the Central Government's directive documents, the province has issued full documents to implement the Program ; the allocation of funds from the state budget and from socialized sources to implement the program has been carried out promptly and in accordance with regulations. Through review, the whole province still has 1,913 houses that need support for construction and repair (1,392 new houses and 521 houses repaired). Up to now, the province has eliminated 2,314 temporary and dilapidated houses (before the Prime Minister launched the movement, there were 1,409 houses and since the movement was launched, there are 905 houses/1,931 houses, reaching 47% of the plan).

Overview of the meeting

Concluding the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of agencies, units and localities in the process of advising, directing and implementing the Program in the past time. With the determination to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province before May 31, 2025; at the same time, determining that the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households is a particularly important political task, with profound humanitarian significance, absolutely not allowing loss, waste or negativity in the process of implementing the Program, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Finance to continue advising on the allocation of resources to implement the Program quickly, in accordance with regulations, and at the same time guide localities in the payment and settlement of the Program. Propose that the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee coordinate to promote propaganda and mobilize union members, members and people of all walks of life in implementing the Program, take the lead in mobilizing resources to support the Program according to the set plan, continue to promote the role of the Program Construction Supervision Team; localities continue to establish Program Inspection and Supervision Teams, organize the simultaneous implementation of housing construction and repair programs, continue to review and supplement beneficiaries of the program to ensure the correct beneficiaries as prescribed and be responsible for the accuracy of the supplemented beneficiaries, continue to mobilize resources throughout society to participate in the Program; The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Standing Office of the Program to urgently advise on the establishment of 05 Monitoring Teams in 5 districts (Phan Rang - Thap Cham city and Ninh Hai district are assigned to the Secretary of the District/City Party Committee to be responsible) to urge and remove obstacles in the implementation of the Program right from the grassroots level, synthesize the list of arising issues of localities to advise the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to make timely adjustments, to the right subjects, and at the same time synthesize and advise on periodic reports once a week on the results of the Program implementation to the Head of the Steering Committee./.
