On June 19, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) agreed to restore diplomatic representation in each country. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying that the embassies of the two countries have officially resumed operations since June 19.

Diplomatic relations between the UAE and Qatar have been disrupted since mid-2017, when a number of Gulf states boycotted Qatar, accusing it of supporting terrorism, a charge Doha denies. Saudi Arabia and Egypt were the first countries to re-appoint ambassadors in Doha in 2021. All the boycotting countries, except Bahrain, have now restored trade and tourism ties with Doha. Relations between the UAE and Qatar have warmed since the two countries' leaders met in person in 2022.
