“We seriously consider the models and solutions proposed by the United States, but cannot accept them in their current form,” Deputy Minister Ryabkov said in an interview with Russia’s International Affairs magazine on Tuesday.

He stressed that, from Moscow's point of view, the US proposal does not address Russia's concerns about the causes of the war.
The US proposal is aimed at achieving a quick ceasefire, but Russia is concerned that such an agreement could lead to a resumption of conflict in the near future. Moscow has stressed the need for a long-term solution that addresses fundamental issues such as NATO's eastward expansion and the rights of Ukraine's Russian-speaking population.
Ryabkov's comments came after President Trump expressed anger at Russian President Vladimir Putin over the weekend, and the US leader also hinted at the possibility of imposing tougher sanctions on Russian oil.
International observers fear that the prospects of a peace deal in the near future are dimming, as the parties involved continue to maintain a hardline stance and lack consensus on the basic terms of any agreement.
