Vinh Phuc women start creative businesses and green transformation

Responding to the 2024 Women's Startup Competition launched by the Vietnam Women's Union with the theme "Women's creative startups and green transformation", Women's Unions at all levels in the province have stepped up propaganda work; actively mobilized resources to support members in realizing business/startup ideas and projects. Thereby contributing to enhancing women's economic power and promoting gender equality.

Following the success of the 2023 Women's Startup Competition, the Provincial Women's Union launched and promoted the 2024 Women's Startup Competition with the theme "Women's creative startups and green transformation" to 100% of cadres, members, and women in the province.

After more than 3 months of implementation, the Organizing Committee received enthusiastic participation from all levels of the association, enterprises/cooperatives/cooperative groups/association groups, business households/business startups and members, women with 57 projects in many fields such as production, business, agricultural services, small-scale industry, trade, services...

The Provincial Women’s Union has selected 4 excellent projects to participate in the preliminary round at the Northern region level organized by the Central Union. Most of the women’s start-up projects have their own characteristics, aiming at green products, reliable geographical indications of origin and production methods, in line with the requirements of “Green Transformation”.

Typical examples include the project "Reusing livestock and crop waste resources into organic fertilizer products" by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, Director of Thanh Van Organic Agriculture Cooperative (Tam Duong); the project "Applying green standards in the management and processing of traditional foods to enhance Vietnamese values" by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, Director of Dong Gia Food Company Limited (Vinh Yen); the project "Producing Do Kieu Black fresh fruit wine" by Ms. Do Thi Kieu (Vinh Yen)...

Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung said: "The 2024 Women's Entrepreneurship Competition is an opportunity for women to exchange, learn, and gain more knowledge and experience in the practice of starting a business.

At the same time, search for and select enterprises, cooperatives, cooperative groups, and business households owned or participated in by women that have initiatives applied to improving the production process of new products and services; using renewable energy sources, circular economy; safe products, good for human health; agricultural production according to organic circular processes, environmentally friendly...

Thereby raising women's awareness of green economy; encouraging businesses and cooperatives owned by women to develop products with Vietnamese brands, contributing to spreading good values to the community."

To support women's startup ideas, the Provincial Women's Union has recently launched a contest to find startup ideas, start a business, and passion for business. The Union has selected feasible ideas to support training, guidance on building business plans, solutions, and startup ideas.

In order to create opportunities for women to exchange, share and learn experiences in business development, the Provincial Women's Union organizes many activities such as the forum "Women's startups, opportunities and challenges", "Startup Festival"; coordinates with related units to organize many training courses, improve knowledge of business administration, improve cooperative management capacity, build startup ideas, apply 4.0 technology in business activities.

Organize activities to support and enhance competitiveness for women-owned businesses and establish women-managed associations; support the realization of start-up ideas of members and women.

Along with that, to support women in starting and running businesses, the Provincial Women's Union proactively connects with banks and credit institutions in the province to help women borrow capital to expand production and business. Currently, the Women's Union at all levels is receiving more than 2,000 billion VND in trust, lending capital to more than 50,000 members to develop the economy.

From activities supporting women to start businesses, many members have boldly and confidently started businesses and creatively started businesses in different fields. Up to now, the association at all levels has built 6 cooperatives, 34 cooperative and association models, attracting nearly 3,000 women to participate. The above production models not only bring economic benefits to families but also create jobs for many workers with stable income.

To inspire creativity for women to start and run businesses, the Women's Union at all levels in the province continues to promote propaganda, raise women's awareness of starting a business; promote the realization of business ideas; strengthen connections, access, and effective use of loan sources to support start-ups and business development...

Thereby promoting the internal strength and creative entrepreneurial spirit of female members; creating conditions and opportunities to help female members rise up to become rich legitimately.
