Regarding the case of 154 students in Quang Binh who have not returned to school since Tet because they think the main school is far away, the local government has offered many solutions but the parents still only want to open the old school for their children to study.

On February 21, the authorities of Quang Phuc ward (Ba Don town, Quang Binh) confirmed that up to this point, 154 students in Tan My residential group of this ward have not returned to school since after Tet.
The request is too unreasonable.
According to the People's Committee of Quang Phuc Ward, the ward government has organized a dialogue with parents. At the dialogue, the ward has proposed many plans to provide maximum support for students, including providing cars to pick up and drop off students from home to the main school every day; organizing boarding school (eating and resting at school) or organizing online learning; at the same time, committing to soon rebuilding to replace the degraded classrooms that cannot be used...
However, the parents of 154 students at the Tan My satellite school are still determined not to let their children go to the main school, which is only 2km away. These parents insist on asking the local government to reopen the satellite school so that students can attend before allowing their children to return to school.
"The ward did not respond to the parents' unreasonable request. Because this school is degraded, it could be dangerous for teachers and students if it were to organize teaching and learning," said the leader of the People's Committee of Quang Phuc ward.
The school is dilapidated and cannot be studied.
Regarding the incident, Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Don Town (Quang Binh), said that the leaders of this agency had sent a document to the People's Committee of Quang Phuc Ward agreeing to keep the educational land at the primary school's satellite location in Tan My residential group and will balance resources to support the locality in rebuilding classrooms in 2025.
"In the immediate future, the Town People's Committee will assign the People's Committee of Quang Phuc Ward to move students to study at the main campus of Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1 so as not to affect students' studies and ensure the school's construction progress," said the town leader.
As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , since the Lunar New Year, 154 students at the Tan My branch campus, belonging to Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1, have not returned to school because their parents objected to the transfer from the branch campus to the main campus 2km away.
According to many parents here, before Tet, the school announced that after Tet, students from Tan My branch will transfer to the main school. The school schedule will start from February 3, which is January 6.
But many parents say that Tan My people are naturally drawn to the sea. Parents often leave their children with their grandparents, so having their children go to school far away is a big obstacle. That is why parents oppose the change of school location.
The leader of the People's Committee of Ba Don town said that the Tan My satellite school was built a long time ago and is degraded, and is located in a low-lying area. Recently, the town invited the Center for Construction Quality Inspection (under the Department of Construction) to inspect.
According to the inspection center's report, the load-bearing capacity of a structural component cannot meet the requirements of normal use, and a locally dangerous situation appears.
Therefore, the town government had to temporarily close the Tan My satellite school.
