Vinacafé Bien Hoa wants to pay dividends in cash, 'shocking' rate of 480%

Vinacafé Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company (VCF) has just announced documents to prepare for the 2025 annual general meeting of shareholders taking place next April.

Presenting to shareholders, VCF plans to propose two scenarios for this year’s business plan. In the cautious scenario, this coffee company sets a target of net revenue of VND2,700 billion and after-tax profit of VND470 billion.

In a more positive scenario, VCF plans to achieve net revenue of VND2,950 billion and after-tax profit of VND516 billion. In addition, this enterprise also submitted a dividend payment plan for 2024 at a rate of 480%, meaning that 1 share will receive VND48,000.

With more than 26.5 million shares in circulation, Vinacafé Bien Hoa is expected to spend more than VND1,270 billion to pay shareholders.

However, most of this money will flow into the "pocket" of Masan Beverage Company Limited - the parent company holding 98.79% of Vinacafé Bien Hoa's capital. Masan Beverage is a subsidiary of Masan Group (MSN).

Meanwhile, the remuneration plan for board members in 2025 is set at VND0. Previously, in 2024, board members of Vinacafé Bien Hoa also did not receive remuneration.

According to the assessment of Vinacafé Bien Hoa's board of directors, last year was still a difficult year for Vietnamese instant coffee manufacturing enterprises.

"The development of modern-style coffee shops has boosted the demand for coffee consumption beyond traditional instant coffee products, making the already fierce competition in the domestic instant coffee beverage market even more fierce," said the leader of Vinacafé Bien Hoa.

The leader of this business also pointed out that last year, the price of Robusta raw coffee continued to experience big waves in both the domestic and world markets.

Coffee prices have continuously set new records and are now nearly double the price at the beginning of the year, greatly affecting the production and business situation of the deep-processed coffee industry.
