Hanoi University of Science and Technology's thinking assessment test scores of 11,000 candidates in the third round

In the thinking assessment exam with 11,000 people - the largest ever, the valedictorian scored 96.43 points.

On the evening of March 19, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced the results of the third round of the Thinking Assessment (TSA) exam. The top scorer this time was a student from Tay Thuy Anh High School (Thai Binh) with 96.43/100 points, 4.8 and 0.37 points higher than the top scorers of the previous two rounds, respectively. This level is slightly lower than the top scorer of last year's exam - 96.49 points.

The remaining candidates in the top 10 with the highest scores come from Me Linh High School (Hanoi), Le Van Huu High School, Lam Son High School (Thanh Hoa), Phan Boi Chau High School (Nghe An), Ly Thai To High School (Ninh Binh), Gia Vien B, Yen Mo B (Ninh Binh), Bien Hoa High School (Ha Nam), Dong Quan High School (Hanoi).

According to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the third round of the thinking assessment exam had nearly 11,000 candidates participating, the largest number ever. Of these, only 6 candidates scored above 90 points, 23 scored between 80-90 points.

The exam also recorded more than 200 candidates who were 10th and 11th graders with the highest score being 67.98/100.

The valedictorian of the third round of thinking assessment scored 96.43/100 points.

In the previous two rounds, the number of candidates taking the exam was 2,700 and 5,000 respectively. The average score of all candidates was 53-57. Last year, the benchmark score for Hanoi University of Science and Technology based on the thinking assessment test score was around 50.4-83.97.

The thinking assessment test was first organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2020 in the form of a paper test. Since last year, the test has been organized on computers. The test consists of three parts: Mathematics, Reading Comprehension and Science. The format is multiple choice with many types of questions such as: choosing the correct option, choosing the right or wrong answer, filling in the answer, dragging/dropping the answer. The total score of the three tests is 100. Currently, more than 30 universities and academies use the results of this test for admission.

In the thinking assessment tests so far, only a few candidates have achieved 90 points. Hanoi University of Science and Technology said that the test questions follow the principles of measurement and assessment in education, and also apply the world's test-making rules. The test questions are highly classified, serving the university admissions goal well, helping schools to select students with suitable abilities.

This year, the university will organize 6 rounds of exams. The schedule for the remaining rounds of Hanoi University of Science and Technology Thinking Assessment Exams in 2024 is as follows:
