Of these, more than 800 martyrs' graves were identified as being from Thanh Hoa province. At Dien Bien Martyrs' Cemetery (Hill A1), there is the grave of Heroic Martyr To Vinh Dien, an outstanding son of Nong Cong district, now Trieu Son district, who heroically used his body to block artillery fire during the historic Dien Bien Phu campaign in 1954.
