Meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Quy Nhon Liberation Day

(BD) - On March 29, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quy Nhon City held a meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Quy Nhon Liberation Day (March 31, 1975 - March 31, 2025).

Attending the meeting were comrade Ho Quoc Dung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Thi Phong Vu - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Huynh Thuy Van - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Lam Hai Giang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; former provincial leaders; Heroic Vietnamese Mother Le Thi Khuong, Hero of the People's Armed Forces...

At the meeting, the delegates reviewed the heroic historical victory of liberating Quy Nhon, affirming that the historic victory on March 31, 1975 was a great victory, marking the glorious history of Quy Nhon City at that time, contributing decisively to the complete liberation of Binh Dinh province.

After the restoration of peace, the Party Committee, army and people of Quy Nhon have always promoted the spirit of solidarity, dynamism, creativity, actively exploited potentials and strengths, mobilized resources to effectively implement the city's political tasks. After 50 years of construction and development, Quy Nhon City has an important strategic position, being the center of politics, economy, culture - society, science & technology, education, the locomotive, strong driving force for the development of Binh Dinh province, having an important position in regional and international exchanges. The economic scale is increasingly expanding, ranking first among 11 districts, towns and cities in the province; the city's total product accounts for nearly 40% of the province. Quy Nhon City has been honored twice as "ASEAN Clean Tourist City" and is considered an increasingly attractive destination for domestic and international tourists.

Quy Nhon City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Dung said: Proud of the victory 50 years ago, the Party Committee, army and people of Quy Nhon will continue to unite, strive to promote the heroic tradition, the achievements that have been achieved, uphold the spirit of solidarity, the will to rise up, seize opportunities, overcome all difficulties and challenges to build Quy Nhon to be increasingly rich, civilized, modern and happy; become the center for the application of science, technology, artificial intelligence and culture in the South of the North Central and Central Coast regions.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung emphasized that the victory on March 31, 1975 to liberate Quy Nhon was a shining symbol, an epic of the steadfast revolutionary will of the army and people of Quy Nhon, contributing decisively to the complete liberation of Binh Dinh province.

Praising and congratulating the efforts of the Party Committee and people of Quy Nhon over the past 50 years, comrade Ho Quoc Dung affirmed that today's results are the result of the efforts of generations of leaders, cadres, party members, armed forces and people in the whole city together overcoming all difficulties and challenges, joining hands, being unanimous, persistent and determined to strive to build Quy Nhon to develop more and more.

The Party Committee, government, army and people of the city continue to promote the heroic tradition, strengthen solidarity and unity within the Party, government, Fatherland Front, organizations and consensus among the people to have absolute trust in the leadership of the Party, successfully implement targets, plans and political tasks associated with digital transformation, especially in streamlining the organizational apparatus according to the Party's policy.

Proud of the nation's heroic historical tradition and the great contributions of previous generations, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung requested the Party Committee and the government of Quy Nhon City to be more aware of their mission and responsibility to lead the city and the province firmly on the path of innovation and development.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to the people and officials of Quy Nhon City for their outstanding achievements, contributing to the cause of construction and socio-economic development, national defense and security of the province.
