On the evening of February 11, the representative of the film producer Sang Den suddenly announced that the film had officially withdrawn from theaters, after only 2 days of release.

Referring to the reason for the decision to withdraw from theaters, the representative of the producer Mega GS shared: “With a work that was made with great passion and care, the wish of the entire film crew from the director, actors to other personnel in the crew is that the film will have the opportunity to reach a wider audience at a more appropriate time. Therefore, we decided to withdraw the film from all theaters nationwide from February 12.”

The producer also announced that the film is scheduled to have a new release date from March 22.

As of the evening of February 11, the movie Bright Lights had a revenue of nearly 700 million VND.

The sudden withdrawal of Sang Den from the Tet film race surprised many people. After the premiere on February 2 as well as the first screenings on February 10 and 11 (the first and second days of Tet), the film received many positive responses.

Media expert Tran Xuan Phuc wrote: "I think this is a film that fits the atmosphere of Tet this year." Blogger Le Minh Man commented: "If you want to feel traditional culture, want to laugh and cry with the characters and enjoy the warm atmosphere at the beginning of the year, Sang Den is a reasonable choice." Journalist Song Minh commented that Sang Den made him "open his eyes" because he is the one who understands the journey of the film's creation.

"Everyone in this movie acts well, I like artists Huu Chau and Chi Tam the most. I feel like each line of dialogue from these two artists is the true voice of the singing career" - journalist Minh Phuc wrote.

The film left theaters just 2 days after its official release.

With Sang Den withdrawing from theaters, this year's Tet movie race will have 3 films left including: Mai (director Tran Thanh), Meet again the boss (director Nhat Trung) and Tra (director Le Hoang).

As initially predicted, Mai completely dominated the theaters. As of the evening of February 11, the film had earned more than 53 billion VND.

Previously, Mai also set a record as the Vietnamese film shown during Tet with the highest number of pre-booked tickets of all time with 40,000 tickets sold, surpassing Mrs. Nu's House . On the first official opening day, the film also easily surpassed the revenue mark of more than 23 billion VND.

The second place in the box office revenue chart is Meet the Pregnant Sister Again , currently with a revenue of more than 19 billion VND. Previously, in the first 3 days of early screening, from February 2 to 4, the film had a revenue of more than 8.8 billion VND.

Tea - a T18 (not for audiences under 18) film directed by Le Hoang, was not surprisingly a box office failure with just over 690 million VND in revenue.

At the last minute, this year's Tet movie race had the participation of two other Vietnamese films, Dao, Pho and Piano and Hong Ha Nu Si , but they were only shown in limited numbers at a few theaters.
