Free shipping fee encourages users to hunt for sales on 11-11

The 11-11 Singles' Day festival creates a vibrant online shopping atmosphere, while opening up sales growth opportunities for many Vietnamese brands, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.

On November 13, platforms and sellers on the floors e-commerce announced the results of this year's 11.11 Singles' Day sale. The event not only boosted sales but also enabled consumers to save significantly with a series of attractive promotions.

Consumers save thousands of billions of dong

With the preparation of large sources of goods as well as an increasingly complete logistics system, this year's festival has received impressive numbers.

Shopee set a new record with a total savings of VND2,300 billion for users. In particular, the "0 VND shipping fee" program helped consumers save up to VND912 billion, showing the attraction of the free shipping policy. It is estimated that more than 1.2 billion products were sold with a shipping fee of VND0 during the event.

These top-selling products are skin care cosmetics, makeup and home care products, with orders increasing 6-7 times compared to normal days.

TikTok Shop also recorded remarkable results in the "11-11 Happy Sale" campaign, with nearly 200,000 orders sold within 14 hours. The three most prominent products on the best-selling list were Cocoon squash makeup remover, Judydoll eye palette, and Joykity laundry detergent.

Not only stopping at increasing discounts, free shipping and high-value gifts, the platforms also bring completely new forms of livestreaming.

Shopee organized a mini concert and fan meeting via livestream for the first time with the participation of top stars, combined with unique promotions. Or TikTok Shop organized the first Mega livestream session at Nguyen Hue walking street in the form of combining online and offline under the guidance of the "god of sales".

During the same period, TikTok's program on November 9 exceeded its target with a 163% increase in sales, attracting nearly 2,000 local sellers to participate.

Online sales will be controlled more tightly.

According to the platform's representative, the health and beauty care industry recorded a sales growth of more than 250%, with brands such as Nam Nung herbal shampoo, An Moc An jewelry and wood products, and Dien Bien specialty Sung Bau standing out.

In the top 5 best-selling brands on Shopee, there are two brands Vinamilk and Cocoon representing Vietnam. With soaring sales, livestream sales sessions are no longer a trend but have become a reality.

Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, CEO of Shopee Vietnam, commented that the 11-11 super sale not only brings great deals but also introduces unique livestreaming formats, helping to increase traffic and optimize conversion rates for sellers. This is a stepping stone for brands to get closer to consumers during the year-end holiday season.

Recently, the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM) has also established the KOL/KOC (celebrity sales person) Association as an indispensable part of e-commerce.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung, Chairman of VECOM, said that previously the association only accepted business members. However, the community of sellers on the platform is currently very large, affirming the role of selling and promoting sales of individuals and celebrities that we still call them "war gods", sellers...

The association will be a place to build a network of content creators to support businesses in promoting their products professionally and effectively. At the same time, it will help increase control over deviant KOLs/KOCs, limiting the sale of poor quality products.
