In order to promote strengths and develop marine economy, Cam Pha City has issued a Resolution on Marine Economic Development of Cam Pha City to 2025, with a vision to 2030, in which the development of tourism and marine services is considered a spearhead.
As a large city, a type II urban area, Cam Pha has a total natural area of 486km2, with a long coastline along the vast Bai Tu Long Bay. The city is also a convenient hub for road, waterway and seaport traffic. Cam Pha has great potential for developing services and tourism. Therefore, in 2022, Cam Pha City issued Resolution No. 21-NQ/TW dated September 30, 2022 of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on Developing the Marine Economy of Cam Pha City to 2025, with a vision to 2030. To realize the advantages, in November 2022, Cam Pha developed and approved the Project on Developing the Marine Economy to 2025, with a vision to 2030 and a plan to implement the above Resolution in February 2023.
To lay the foundation for developing the marine economy in a scientific and systematic manner, in recent times, Cam Pha City has also issued dozens of leadership and direction documents, resolutely and thoroughly handling the relocation and clearance of illegal aquaculture activities at sea; converting floating materials; managing the exploitation, protection and development of aquatic resources and combating illegal exploitation.
The city also coordinated with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to advise the Provincial People's Committee to develop a project for rapid and sustainable development of the province's marine economy until 2030, with a vision to 2045. At the same time, the city also paid attention to and promoted strict State management of marine economic development; completed seaport infrastructure, developed maritime economy, planned port construction, synchronized logistics areas...
The attention to promoting and developing the marine economy also contributes to equipping and modernizing infrastructure, changing the appearance, contributing to increasing and promoting the effective exploitation of the advantages of seaports, tourism and marine services of Cam Pha. Accordingly, to promote tourism and marine services, in recent times, Cam Pha has also actively innovated and improved the effectiveness of propaganda, promotion and advertising of marine economic development with many practical events and activities, such as: Coordinating the organization of the Quang Ninh Ao Dai Festival 2022 and the Sea Fashion Show; installing a BTS station on Reu Island, serving domestic and international tourists visiting the Vung Duc Historical Site, Bai Tu Long...
One of the important tasks that Cam Pha is interested in and planning is to develop sea tourism services into a spearhead. Accordingly, Cam Pha has paid attention to and specifically oriented projects and solutions for sea tourism development. That is to transfer all coal import and export activities from Km6 Port, reduce the scale and gradually convert Km6 Port into a general port, after 2030 it will be converted into a tourist port; implement urban area projects combined with seaport tourism; develop Quang Hanh sea resort complex with island tourism model, resort tourism, golf course...
Cam Pha also promotes Cam Pha coastal tourism urban area to become a central beach service park space of the city, such as with Vung Duc tourist - service park complex; Planning the southern urban area of the city (about 1,000 hectares) as a sea square area, a landscape axis - symbol of Cam Pha.
At the same time, promote cultural tourism activities at Cua Ong Temple and Cap Tien Temple combined with sea tourism. Thanks to that, up to now, Cam Pha sea tourism has had positive movements such as: Developing some resort tourism spots such as Onsen Quang Hanh; approving the investment policy and investors of the Geological hot spring resort project, spiritual tourism spots such as Cua Ong Temple continue to be maintained and developed; announcing and putting into operation some new sea tourism routes and products.
Despite many difficulties and limitations, with the above orientation, Cam Pha City is making efforts to accelerate the construction of Cam Pha into a center for resort tourism, health care, developing marine tourism products, expanding new tourism spaces and connecting with Ha Long City, Van Don District, Co To... developing eco-tourism, exploring experiences associated with natural landscapes and marine cultural identity.
