Average GRDP reached about 11.5%/year

According to the Tra Vinh Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, recently approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1142/QD-TTg dated October 2, 2023, it is clearly stated that: The general goal is that by 2030, Tra Vinh will be a province with medium-high development, in the top group of the Mekong Delta region, with synchronous transport infrastructure, connecting the Mekong Delta region and the whole country; with a developed marine economy, adapting to climate change; cultural values ​​of ethnic groups are preserved and promoted; people have a prosperous and happy life.

Specifically, in terms of economy, the average growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is about 11.5%/year; in which the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increases by an average of 3.32%/year, the industry - construction sector increases by an average of 15.49%/year, the trade - service sector increases by an average of 10.81%/year. The average GRDP per capita (current price) will reach 148 million VND by 2030. The budget revenue in the area increases by an average of 12% to 15%/year. The proportion of GRDP in agriculture, forestry and fishery accounts for about 17.98%; industry - construction accounts for about 46.14%; services account for about 33.00%; product taxes minus product subsidies account for about 2.88%. Export value will reach about 1,700 to 1,800 million USD by 2030. Mobilizing total social investment capital will reach from 350 trillion to 400 trillion VND.

In terms of society, by 2030, Tra Vinh will have an average population growth rate of 0.75%/year. The rate of trained workers will reach 75%; the rate of trained workers with degrees and certificates will reach 40% by 2030. Labor productivity will increase by an average of 11.65%/year. New jobs will be created for 30,000 workers each year. By 2030, it is expected that about 73% of kindergartens, 89% of primary schools, 70% of secondary schools and 91% of high schools will meet national standards. It is expected that there will be 35 hospital beds per 10,000 people; 14-16 doctors per 10,000 people. The rate of health insurance participation will reach 95% by 2030. The rate of poor households meeting multidimensional standards will decrease by an average of 1-1.5%/year. Human Development Index (HDI) of 0.75 or higher.

Regarding environmental protection, the rate of clean water use for domestic purposes of residents in urban areas reaches 99% or more; in rural areas it reaches about 85%. The forest coverage rate reaches 4.5%.

By 2050, Tra Vinh will be a highly developed province in the Mekong Delta, with a modern marine economic center and a clean energy center in the Mekong Delta, adapting to climate change; a synchronous socio-economic infrastructure system, effectively connecting with the Mekong Delta and the whole country. A civilized and modern society; national defense and security are guaranteed; people have a prosperous, civilized and happy life.

Tra Vinh becomes an attractive destination in the Mekong Delta region

Notably, according to the Plan, Tra Vinh will develop the following main industries: Energy industry: Developing renewable energy sources and new energy to become the clean energy center of the Mekong Delta; maximizing the capacity of existing thermal power plants, gradually increasing the proportion of electricity produced from renewable energy sources, contributing to ensuring energy security for socio-economic development in the Southern region.

Regarding tourism: Tra Vinh becomes an attractive destination in the Mekong Delta; develops green, sustainable, highly competitive tourism; simultaneously develops sea tourism, cultural heritage tourism, especially Khmer culture; garden eco-tourism, community tourism, agricultural tourism; links with destinations in the Mekong Delta and the whole country.

Regarding seaport and logistics services: a provincial logistics center will be established and developed in Dinh An Economic Zone.

In addition, the province will also develop Dinh An Economic Zone into a dynamic economic zone of the province and the Mekong Delta region with a multi-sector, multi-field nature. Prioritizing the development of the following industries: renewable energy, agricultural and aquatic product processing, shipbuilding along with supporting industries; developing aquaculture areas towards high-tech application; developing services and tourism with unique products associated with seaports, logistics services...
