During the past term, the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU) of Phu Tho province has always paid attention to fostering revolutionary will, fostering ideals and enthusiasm for union members to raise their aspirations and bravery to rise up and establish their careers. The organization is increasingly strong, becoming a reliable support for generations of young people of the Fatherland to devote their youth to the cause of building, developing and protecting the homeland, making the country more and more beautiful.

Building a strong association

Phu Tho province currently has 196,672 young people, of whom 131,966 participate in the Youth Union and Association (accounting for about 67%); there are 225 grassroots organizations under the Provincial Youth Union. In recent years, Party committees and authorities at all levels have paid special attention to youth work, taking care of educating the younger generation in politics, ideology, cultural level, expertise, vocational training, job creation, creating favorable conditions for young people to strive, practice, contribute and mature.

Youth Unions at all levels have regularly innovated and created in their organization and activities, approaching the legitimate needs and interests of young people. The Vietnam Youth Union of Phu Tho province has gradually affirmed its role, position and prestige among young people and in social life, truly becoming a close companion of young people, a place to gather and unite all classes of young people, regardless of ethnicity or religion in the whole province.

The work of moral and lifestyle education continues to be focused on. The Committees of the Association at all levels regularly propagate and mobilize youth and members to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; organize seminars and forums to educate young people on ideals, morality and lifestyle; organize competitions to learn about culture and national identity; organize commendation and reward for outstanding young people in various fields, thereby positively influencing and encouraging the spirit of love for the homeland and country among young people.

One of the highly effective innovations is to take advantage of media channels and social networks to quickly propagate and popularize movements to members and young people. Currently, the Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union have built a fanpage of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Phu Tho province with more than 31,000 likes and followers. At the same time, the fanpages and Zalo pages of the Youth Union and Association bases regularly post news, articles, create clips, videos, reports, and images introducing the Youth Union, Association, homeland, and country...

The work of developing members is focused on through the development of member classes and the programs and campaigns of the Association. Currently, the Vietnam Youth Union of Phu Tho province has 130,167 members; the Provincial Student Association has 4,162 members; the Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association has 210 members; the Provincial Young Physicians Association has 146 members; the whole province has 831 clubs, groups, teams and groups. The rate of youth solidarity is 67%.

The content and methods of solidarity and gathering of young people continue to have new developments, focusing on developing branches, teams, groups, and youth clubs according to professions and interests. Typically, some clubs have organized effective activities that contribute to gathering and uniting young people into organizations such as: Young Family Club, Youth Club for Working Away, Phu Tho Province Student Association in Hanoi, Hung Vuong General Hospital Young Doctors Club (Doan Hung), Green Shirt Club, Volunteer Green Shirt of universities and colleges in the province.

During the term, the Association at all levels admitted 48,327 new members to the organization, maintained the activities of 2,379 branches and 831 clubs, groups and teams. In addition, the Association at all levels also focused on grasping the situation, developments in ideology, thoughts, aspirations and public opinion among the youth; focused on gathering exemplary individuals with prestige, religious dignitaries, and capacity, who had grown up from the youth movement to train them to become youth leaders.

Every year, the local Youth Union and Association Committees organize dialogues between Party committees, authorities and youth, promptly grasping the thoughts and aspirations of youth in order to have support policies and timely solutions. Through that, the Association is consolidated and developed.

In the 2019 - 2024 term, the Vietnam Youth Union of Phu Tho province achieved and exceeded 8 set targets. Notably, targets 2 and 4: During the term, 15 activities were organized to equip young people with knowledge of entrepreneurship and career establishment, supporting 31 start-up projects for young people; 10 provincial-level activities were organized and 2,275 grassroots-level activities were organized to improve skills and physical training, attracting 121,885 members and young people to participate.

The movement “I love my Fatherland” has been materialized through many practical and effective activities, creating a generation of young people who live beautifully, usefully, responsibly, proactively, and enthusiastically take the lead in all emulation movements. Through these activities, many typical and advanced young people in various fields of social life have been recognized and rewarded by the Youth Union Committees at all levels and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union.

During the term, the Union at all levels actively organized social security volunteer activities attracting a large number of members and youth from all walks of life to participate, notably the peak period of implementing the Winter Volunteer Program, Spring Volunteer Program; Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign;... activities to participate in serving the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival. The Union at all levels of the Vietnam Youth Union in the province donated 7,800 sets of warm clothes, 1,300 warm blankets, 17,000 masks; 3,250 notebooks; 550 pairs of new shoes and sandals to students in difficult circumstances.

The Youth Union and Association organizations organized the awarding of 2,508 gifts with a total value of 981 million VND to students, families with preferential policies, and families in difficult circumstances. During the term, there were over 5,150 Youth Union members, students, and university students with over 364 volunteer teams participating in the program "Supporting the exam season".

Besides the "telling numbers", the fact that the association's establishments boldly implement new methods and models suitable to actual conditions is also a noteworthy bright spot.

Implementing the movement "Youth of the Ancestral Land join hands to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", the whole province has organized 1,200 environmental sanitation sessions, collected waste, organized the removal of illegal advertising and classified ads on 32km of urban roads, attracting more than 4,000 cadres, union members and young people to participate; supported the construction of 18 charity houses, red scarf houses, gratitude houses and 10 toilets for children; repaired and built more than 150km of rural roads.

The whole province has implemented over 900 youth projects at all levels and 530 volunteer activities are regularly organized, attracting thousands of union members and young people to participate.

Activities to support young people to borrow capital for production and business have been maintained and effectively implemented from the capital source 120. Through that, most young families have increased their income, improved their family economy, gradually participated in poverty reduction, and contributed to the socio-economic development of the locality.

Specific results: The province currently has 66 youth economic development club models with 330 members. Among them, there are many typical examples with will and determination, which are bright examples for young people to learn and follow. With the slogan of action "Solidarity - Creativity - Aspiration - Development", entering the term 2024 - 2029, the Vietnam Youth Union of Phu Tho province is determined to successfully implement 10 key targets. To achieve and exceed the set goals, the Association determined that it is necessary to be flexible in its methods of operation to suit the youth situation and the development trends of society.

The Association at all levels continues to innovate the content and methods of operation, strengthen the work of uniting and gathering young people, build strong association organizations; foster revolutionary ideals and create an environment for young people to practice, contribute and mature.

Building a truly strong organization of the Vietnam Youth Union at all levels in Phu Tho province, with the capacity to gather and unite a wide range of young people, effectively performing the role of accompanying young people, promoting the capacity, intelligence and youthfulness of young people to actively participate in the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland, contributing with the Party, government and people of all ethnic groups to build Phu Tho into a leading developed province in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region.
