On the morning of January 18, the first day of the pilot traffic adjustment at the Khuat Duy Tien - Nguyen Trai - Nguyen Xien intersection (Thanh Xuan district), 5 traffic police officers and about 10 traffic inspectors were tasked with guiding people through the roundabout located in the middle of the Khuat Duy Tien intersection.
According to Dan Tri reporter, although it is the weekend, the traffic situation here is still very "tense".

At Khuat Duy Tien street towards Khuat Duy Tien - Nguyen Trai intersection, thousands of vehicles were stuck on the road, the flow of vehicles from the exit to Ring Road 3 was also congested for a long time.
On the first day of piloting the re-routing of Khuat Duy Tien intersection, traffic congestion still occurred.
As for Nguyen Trai Street towards Khuat Duy Tien - Nguyen Trai intersection, the traffic jam stretched from house number 342 to the intersection. Many people shared that they felt confused when the road was congested on a holiday.
Also according to the reporter's records, on Nguyen Xien Street towards Khuat Duy Tien - Nguyen Trai intersection, the traffic flow stretching about 600m was congested from 7am to 9:30am.

Riding a motorbike in the middle of a traffic jam from Nguyen Xien to Khuat Duy Tien, Nguyen Sy Hai (in Hoang Mai district, Hanoi) complained: "I think this will only make the traffic jam worse. This morning, even though it was Saturday, I was still late for work because the traffic jam was from Nguyen Xien street up."
According to Mr. Hai, he goes to work through Khuat Duy Tien intersection every day, but today he found that the traffic reorganization here did not help improve the traffic situation, but instead made the congestion longer.
Waiting at the red light in the middle of a crowded traffic flow at the Khuat Duy Tien - Nguyen Trai intersection, Mr. Le Duc Tam (in Thanh Xuan district) also shared the feeling that traffic this morning was more congested than usual. According to Mr. Tam, it could be because people are not used to the new traffic flow, leading to this congestion.

Speaking to reporters, a traffic inspector of Thanh Xuan district said that through initial assessment, the traffic situation after being reorganized at the Khuat Duy Tien - Nguyen Trai intersection was more crowded than usual, however, people still obeyed traffic lights, stopped and parked according to regulations.
"Maybe because the traffic here has just been reorganized, many people are not used to it, leading to congestion. However, with the support of the authorities, I think that in the next few days, the traffic situation here will improve," the traffic inspector shared.
A traffic police officer in charge of traffic flow at the Khuat Duy Tien - Nguyen Trai intersection also assessed that the traffic situation after being reorganized at this intersection was more congested than usual. According to the officer, because it was the first day of the pilot, people might not be familiar with the way of moving when passing through here.
Previously, the Hanoi Department of Transport announced a pilot project to adjust traffic organization through the Khuat Duy Tien - Nguyen Trai - Nguyen Xien intersection (Thanh Xuan district).
