“Former President Trump has racked up legal costs in 2023, having been indicted four times and spending about $50 million on legal bills and investigation-related expenses,” the sources said. That’s a staggering amount, the source added.

According to sources, former President Trump is expected to spend even more money on legal fees in 2024 as he is facing four criminal indictments and a civil case.

Accordingly, participating in the trials of these cases could cause further legal costs while he is trying to seek the Republican presidential nomination.

The PAC will report the exact amount spent on Mr. Trump’s legal cases in new filings with the Federal Election Commission. But that total could be inaccurate, depending on how those filing the paperwork categorize certain expenses.

The Trump campaign team did not respond to requests for comment on the matter.

Meanwhile, when speaking to a crowd of supporters at a campaign rally in October 2023, Mr. Trump complained about the high legal costs.

Mr Trump faces two criminal charges in Washington and Georgia for attempting to overturn the election results. He also faces a criminal charge for handling classified documents after leaving the White House and another criminal charge related to alleged payments to a porn star.

In addition, he also faces a civil case in New York state that is currently being tried on charges that he, his two sons and the Trump Organization falsely declared the value of assets to benefit from insurance and loans.
