DTO - On March 28, the 10th Provincial People's Council held its 13th extraordinary session. Attending the session was Mr. Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee.

Speaking at the opening of the session, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Phan Van Thang emphasized that the contents presented at the session are all urgent and important issues, which are the legal basis for the management and operation of local authorities. Therefore, he requested the delegates of the Provincial People's Council to promote their sense of responsibility, based on the practical situation of the locality, to contribute many dedicated and quality opinions so that the session can complete the entire program content with high unity and consensus.

At the meeting, leaders of specialized departments presented reports on draft resolutions, and leaders of provincial People's Council Committees reported on the results of the examination of draft resolutions.

Thereby, the provincial People's Council delegates voted to approve 15 draft resolutions. In which, there are resolutions on: supplementing, assigning and adjusting the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025 from the state budget managed and allocated by the province (phase 13); supplementing, assigning and adjusting the 2025 public investment plan from the state budget managed and allocated by the province (phase 3); stipulating preferential regimes for land rent exemption for projects using land for production and business purposes in the field of education and training in Dong Thap province that meet the conditions of type, scale criteria, and socialization standards decided by the Prime Minister; stipulating the support mechanism for implementing social housing construction investment projects in Dong Thap province...

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council introduced and elected Mr. Tran Tri Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee as Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee. The election result was that Mr. Tran Tri Quang was elected as Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee with 50/50 delegates present in agreement.

The meeting dismissed Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Thien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee due to being transferred to the position of Secretary of the Sa Dec City Party Committee; dismissed the position of Member of the Provincial People's Committee for Mr. Ho Thanh Phuong - former Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Mr. Phan Huu Phuoc - former Director of the Department of Home Affairs due to retirement and resignation at will. At the same time, dismissed the position of Member of the Provincial People's Committee for Mr. Le Hoang Bao - former Director of the Department of Transport, Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Dao - former Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, Mr. Pham Viet Cong - former Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs due to being transferred to new duties.

The delegates also elected Mr. Le Chi Thien - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment to hold the position of Member of the Provincial People's Committee.

In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Tran Tri Quang, thanked the Provincial People's Council delegates for their trust and promised to inherit and promote the achievements that previous generations have built over many years, creating the image of Dong Thap - the beautiful and developed land of lotus as it is today. At the same time, he pledged to make every effort and unite with the Provincial People's Committee to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

At this session, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee decided to award Certificates of Merit to 4 collectives and 11 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Innovating content and methods of operation, improving quality and efficiency of the Provincial People's Council in 2024".
