Few people expected that the woman who succeeded in clean agriculture was a restaurant owner. She switched to clean agriculture because she felt sorry for the abandoned greenhouse system.
"My family has been in the restaurant business for many years. Clean agricultural products are always chosen by the restaurant to bring diners the best dishes. At that time, I also focused only on the restaurant business.
Personally, I have no experience in the process of caring for and harvesting vegetables and fruits. But seeing the abandoned greenhouse system, I felt so sorry that I decided to give it a try. Luckily, I received a lot of support from the local government and the Farmers' Association to have the success I have today," Ms. Vi Thi Giang shared.
Previously, in 2028, a unit invested in a 2-hectare greenhouse system in Phong village to grow melons. Later, for many reasons, this unit did not continue to implement it. The greenhouse system was abandoned.
In 2023, the leaders of Thach Giam town mobilized households to come here to produce. Because she felt sorry for the greenhouse system, Ms. Giang boldly tried.

In the first crop, Ms. Giang was supported by the local government with watermelon seeds and instructions on the cultivation process and techniques. Thanks to that, the watermelon plants grew well and bore fruit regularly. After 4 months of planting, Ms. Giang harvested her first watermelon crop.
The watermelons have a rich sweet taste and sell for a good price. After deducting production and labor costs, Ms. Giang earned 170 million VND.
Big profit from tomato wedges, the restaurant owner is very happy
In the first season of entering clean agriculture, the restaurant owner had a big win. This success helped Ms. Giang become more confident and determined in her economic development direction. Ms. Giang continued to learn more knowledge to diversify crops and increase income.
Currently, Ms. Giang creates stable jobs for 4 local workers. The consecutive successes help Ms. Giang to persevere in the clean agriculture industry.
The price of tomato wedges ranges from 20,000 VND to 30,000 VND/kg. The tomato wedges helped Ms. Giang win big.
The selected vegetables and fruits are all varieties suitable for local climatic conditions.
In the greenhouse, Ms. Giang grows three main products: tomato, watermelon and cabbage. In addition, Ms. Giang also intercrops some vegetables to meet market demand and increase income.
Among them, the tomato plant is a typical product of the Phong village, Thach Giam town. The tomato plant has been recognized as a 3-star OCOP product. The tomato plant is grown in a greenhouse, cultivated entirely using organic methods, so it grows very well.
Ms. Giang planted tomato wedges in August, and started harvesting on the occasion of Lunar New Year. The harvest time of tomato wedges lasts until April of the following year. The tomato wedge plant has high yield and stable price.

Tomato wedges have high nutritional value and are very popular in the market. The price of tomato wedges is relatively stable, averaging 20,000 VND to 30,000 VND/kg. There was even a time when tomato wedges were sold for 50,000 VND/kg."
It is estimated that Ms. Giang harvested nearly 20 tons of tomato wedges. With the current price of tomato wedges, this woman earned nearly 500 million VND. Among the crops, tomato wedges are the most effective, helping Ms. Giang earn a large profit.
The local government also supported Ms. Giang to promote products and connect with consumers. Vegetables, tubers, and fruits grown in greenhouses are of good quality, so the market is very fond of them, and they sell out every single batch. In 2024, Ms. Giang earned more than 800 million VND, with a profit of 500 million VND.
