Talented, beautiful and dynamic are the phrases that many people often use to describe Nguyen Bao Chau. The female student of grade 12 Math 1, Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted not only possesses impressive academic achievements but is also very outstanding in extracurricular activities, and is the founder of many meaningful and practical community projects.

Bao Chau is the founder of The STEAM Project - a project to apply and spread STEAM education (a learning method mainly based on practice with many creative activities) to young people. Chau is also the co-Chair of the Organizing Committee of the STEAM Summer Camp Program for Ha Tinh teenagers.

In addition, the female student is also the founder and former President of Colympus - Olympia Club of Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted; founding member and former Deputy of Human Resources of The PEA Organization - an educational organization supporting secondary school students.

Despite winning many valuable scholarships, surprisingly, Bao Chau had no intention of hunting for scholarships from the beginning. The female student said that her efforts in studying and participating in activities were entirely due to her passion and desire to develop and improve her skills.

By grade 11, after learning about and being attracted by the international learning environment, Bao Chau began preparing her scholarship application. In the first semester of grade 12, Bao Chau submitted her application to the early admissions period of the schools.

As a result, the Ha Tinh female student continuously received good news: 80% talent scholarship (worth 2.7 billion VND) from the School of Business Administration of VinUni University - a private, non-profit university established by Vingroup in Hanoi; President scholarship including tuition and living expenses (Fulbright University); reached the top 5 in the interview round for Nguyen Phuong scholarship - the only 100% scholarship of Fulbright University.

According to Bao Chau, the factors that make a candidate's scholarship application stand out are not only academic achievements at school but also a combination of extracurricular activities, competitions, and meaningful stories and experiences.

With clear goals and outstanding efforts, Bao Chau always achieves impressive academic achievements.

"I think the important thing is to know what you need, then focus on investing in those things instead of studying haphazardly. For example, when I determined my university goals, I took care of my application by investing in English certificates, GPA scores as well as knowledge about the industry I was aiming for," said Bao Chau.

In addition to the scholarships she has received, Chau is also very proud of the STEAM Project she founded. STEAM is an educational method that revolves around 5 areas: science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. This method emphasizes comprehensive development through practice and practical orientation.

Currently, STEAM Project is operating mainly in Ha Tinh with the main activity being STEAM summer camp for teenagers in the area to help them equip themselves with knowledge in STEAM fields as well as skills in thinking, creativity, public speaking, teamwork...

The STEAM Summer Camp also has a financial support program for campers in difficult circumstances and campers far from the city. This is a difference from other summer camps.

Bao Chau said: "I always want everyone to have access to education, so when organizing the summer camp, I tried to ask for as much sponsorship as possible to bring positive values to the participants."

Sharing about her future plans, Bao Chau said that she does not set a specific destination for herself but focuses on comprehensive development, creating the most open, agile and flexible Bao Chau. Therefore, the female student always strives to travel more to learn more.

“Currently, studying in Vietnam is the most suitable choice for me. This is also a lever for me to create opportunities for myself and step out into the international community within the next 3-4 years,” Bao Chau expressed.
