A middle-aged man suddenly rushed into a store with a knife in Nam Dinh City (Nam Dinh Province) and threatened a female employee at the counter.
On the evening of February 12, speaking with VietNamNet reporters, the leader of the People's Committee of Loc Vuong Ward (Nam Dinh City) confirmed that an incident had just occurred in the area where a man holding a knife broke into a store and threatened a female employee working at the counter.
"Nam Dinh City Police are coordinating with Loc Vuong Ward Police to focus on verifying the subject and clarifying the case," informed the leader of Loc Vuong Ward.
Previously, a video circulated on social media recording a scene of a man wearing a grey shirt and helmet suddenly storming into a store, pulling a knife out of his shirt and threatening a female employee who was working at the counter. Too frightened, the woman fell backwards, while the man rushed forward, held her down and pressed the knife to her neck.
Discovering the incident, a person in the store ran out shouting for help. Immediately after, a middle-aged man ran in to advise the knife-wielding man, then he let go, put the knife away, and left.
Mr. NVK (born in 1963, residing in Nam Dinh City), a security guard who directly intervened to stop the subject, said: "The incident happened around 4:20 p.m. on February 8. At that time, I was working outside when I heard cursing coming from inside the store.
When I ran in, the janitor ran out shouting. When I entered, I saw a man holding a knife to a customer service employee named T.".
"The situation was very dangerous because the man was holding a knife close to T's neck, so I had to stay calm. At that time, I stepped in and spoke softly to calm him down, avoid causing agitation, and told him that if there was anything, he should come out and slowly resolve it. Seeing that I was calm, the man let go, put the knife away, and left.
The incident happened so suddenly, the victim and I did not know who the man holding the knife was. According to observations, the man was about 50 years old," Mr. K. added.
