From "Calendar Queen", receiving a salary of several taels of gold per night
Thanh Mai (born in 1973) is a dancer. Thanh Mai was born into a family without an artistic background, but she possesses innate talent for the profession along with a beautiful, attractive face.
From the age of 12, Thanh Mai began studying Ballet at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music and performed on many stages. In 1992, she won the 2nd runner-up position at the Tomorrow's Movie Star contest. This title was the milestone that brought Thanh Mai closer to the public.
Thanks to her beautiful appearance, in the 1990s, along with Giang My, Diem Huong, Viet Trinh, Hien Mai... Thanh Mai was one of the famous "calendar queens".
Recalling the first time she appeared in a newspaper or magazine, Thanh Mai said that it was when she was 14-15 years old - studying at a dance school. At that time, Nhan Dan newspaper came to Saigon to take pictures of dancers, and she was one of three people chosen.
"We performed, did the dance moves and the picture was published in the newspaper. That night, I rode my bike to the newsstand and bought the newspaper. I was so happy... because for the first time in my life, I was in the newspaper.
At that time, people didn't even write my name, they just wrote that I was an actor in the first class of the dance school in Ho Chi Minh City. That's all... but I felt extremely happy and joyful," Thanh Mai shared.
Thanh Mai's name became more famous when she entered the acting field and took on the main role in the movie "Poor goalkeeper ". Later, she also participated in some works such as "Ngã ba long", "người đi tìm di quang "... but could not overcome the mark of the image of "poor goalkeeper".

At that time, Thanh Mai's popularity was so great that she was paid several taels of gold for her performances. Thanh Mai performed regularly with big names at that time such as Ly Hung, Diem Huong, etc., bringing the audience elaborate and beautiful dance performances. There was a time when, during Tet, she performed three shows a day at the City Theater.
Thanh Mai said, at that time there was no Facebook, Tiktok, Youtube, there were not many TV channels, there were not many means of entertainment, people would go to the cinema or watch art shows in large numbers.
"You earned a lot of money at a young age, how did you spend it?", I asked. Thanh Mai said: "At that time, there were no branded goods or expensive cosmetics to spend money on, so anyone who worked hard could easily save up to buy gold, cars...
We, the 7X generation, were the generation that struggled after the war, so we didn't spend lavishly. When I had money from performing, I asked my parents to keep it for me. When I had enough money, I saved it to buy a house. When I was 16 or 17 years old, I took care of all the tuition fees for my siblings and the living expenses at home."
To "billionaire beauty"
Thanh Mai achieved impressive artistic achievements at a very young age, however, she realized that this was not a career for her to stick with for long.
So in 1997, Thanh Mai decided to go to France and Korea to study aesthetics. In 1998, she returned and opened her first large-scale aesthetic center in Saigon.
After nearly a decade, in 2007, Thanh Mai suddenly appeared on the show New Vitality as an MC. Thanks to Thanh Mai's charming hosting, the talk show was well received by a large audience. Until now, the audience still often refers to her as an MC, a testament to her success with the show New Vitality.

However, after that, the female MC disappeared from film projects to focus on her beauty salon business with many branches across the country and Asia.
Ask Thanh Mai: "The audience still has the impression that you are a dancer, an artist and an MC. It's hard to imagine how strict and leading Thanh Mai would be in the business world?"
Thanh Mai shared that her nature is still the same: gentle and artistic when doing business. She always tries to control herself, because she thinks that if she is gentle and thinks without anger, her mind will be at peace.
"Coming to the business world, I accept the commitment, of course in the way of working there is always flexibility and knowing my own strength so that I do not fall into a state of too much pressure or fatigue that affects others.
When employees make mistakes, I want to sit down together to give advice, share and build rather than criticize and debate. Because there are two types of debate. Debate to find out right or wrong is good, but on the contrary, debate to win or lose is not good. Because of such thoughts, I can do many things, otherwise, I would definitely be under a lot of stress right now," Thanh Mai confided.
Despite her success in business, few people know that Thanh Mai has been struggling since she was 10 years old. She has worked many jobs such as selling coffee and cigarettes, and at the age of 16, she opened a small hair salon.
Later, thanks to the development of her business, she was "supported" to confidently pursue her passion for art. "I feel lucky that God gave me good business skills to nurture my art and passion," Thanh Mai confided.

"My work success has many other factors, but without beauty and everyone's support, there certainly wouldn't be Thanh Mai today," Thanh Mai said.
Ageless beauty at U50, enjoying a peaceful life
At the age of U50, Thanh Mai is still affectionately called "Ageless Beauty" by the audience. To maintain a youthful and radiant beauty, Thanh Mai maintains the habit of sleeping early, usually around 10pm. Although there are days when she "breaks the rules" to join in the fun with friends, she is always conscious of going to bed before 12am.

Regarding diet, MC Thanh Mai focuses on eating green vegetables and fruits, limiting fried foods. Occasionally, she will fast intermittently to purify her body. Every day, Thanh Mai spends 30-60 minutes exercising, helping her body stay toned and her spirit stay fresh.
