'Calendar Queen' Thanh Xuan shows off her beauty at age 51, reveals Tet in a foreign land

"Calendar Queen" Thanh Xuan was born in 1974, at the same time as Diem Huong, Viet Trinh, Diem My, La Kim Phung, Ly Thu Thao... She won the crown of Miss Cinema 1992, Runner-up of Ho Chi Minh City Fashion, Runner-up of Asian Fashion 1994, Miss Photogenic 1994.

The 7X beauty queen shared that when living in Canada, on every special occasion, the ao dai was always her preferred outfit. The beauty said that every time she wore the traditional Vietnamese costume, she always felt confident and graceful. "When I wear the ao dai, I always feel the most beautiful and radiant. Every time I wore the ao dai to attend some events and exhibitions in Canada, many foreigners always looked at me attentively and praised the beautiful ao dai. That makes me extremely proud to promote the cultural beauty of Vietnamese people to the world," she shared.

Having lived abroad for many years, Thanh Xuan shared about her Tet holiday abroad. According to the beauty, overseas, only the Vietnamese community celebrates the traditional Tet holiday and it only takes place on the first day of Tet. "Every year, the Vietnamese community often organizes a Tet fair. There are many stalls decorated with branches, flowers, red parallel sentences... creating a familiar Tet space like in Vietnam. Traditional dishes such as banh chung, banh tet, gio cha, all kinds of jams, braised pork, grilled pork vermicelli... everything under the sun is also sold here. The warm, happy atmosphere also helps us somewhat ease our homesickness," the beauty queen shared.

Even though she is in a foreign land, the "calendar queen" still maintains Vietnamese customs during Tet such as worshiping the Kitchen Gods and New Year's Eve. Every year, she spends time preparing for the traditional Tet holiday, buying trays of hats, banh chung, pork rolls... burning incense to show respect to her ancestors, heaven and earth and praying for peace in the new year. The beauty said that this is her way of preserving and passing on to her children and grandchildren, thereby contributing to preserving the traditional culture of the nation.

Miss Thanh Xuan said that she initially planned to celebrate the New Year in Canada. However, because she missed her homeland and was supported by her son, she decided to return to Vietnam to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025.
