“Saint’s Day” is a 2-episode psychological drama film directed by Bach Diep, made in 1976. The film is adapted from the novel “Sea Storm” by writer Chu Van, telling about the social life of a coastal Catholic village in the North in the early 1960s.
From the story of two sisters Nhan and Ai, who have an unhappy marriage but are bound by old ideas, the film gradually unties the knots in the lives of two women, and then the details contribute to expanding to the problems of the whole society.

The film features the participation of many veteran film artists such as: People's Artist Tra Giang - as Ms. Nhan; People's Artist Nhu Quynh - as Ms. Ai; Artist Viet Lien - as Mr. Vuong and People's Artist Tran Phuong - as Mr. Tiep.
It is known that artist Viet Lien currently lives in Hai Phong, People's Artist Nhu Quynh lives in Hanoi and People's Artist Tra Giang lives in Ho Chi Minh City. Since the movie "Saint's Day" was completed and released, it has been 50 years, but they have not had the opportunity to work together or meet. This is their reunion after participating in the movie.
Recalling her journey to play the role of a coastal woman, People's Artist Nhu Quynh shared that she had to learn to speak loudly and walk strongly to be able to express her personality. As for People's Artist Tra Giang, before this film, she had never played such a formidable, shrewish and "ignorant" role. However, when playing the roles of the two sisters Nhan and Ai, they performed excellently, truly becoming coastal women, talking about the wind and waves, with the typical personality of each character.

As for artist Viet Lien, this is the first time he has acted in a movie, chosen to play the role of Mr. Vuong, a simple and honest coastal man who loves Ms. Ai with all his heart, even though social prejudices seem to have prevented them from being together.
Besides the above characters, the film also features many famous actors such as Meritorious Artist Phuong Thanh, Meritorious Artist Ngoc Thu, Meritorious Artist Hoang Yen, actor Dung Nhi... Regarding this interesting fact, People's Artist Nhu Quynh said that the film "Saint's Day" was filmed right at the time when the 2nd Cinema class of the University of Theatre and Cinema went on an internship, so the film has such a large cast of "cameos".
In the program “Cine 7 – Memories of Vietnamese Films”, the artists also shared many memories during the film making process, such as hundreds of meters of film that were finished being transported from Nam Dinh to the Feature Film Studio in Hanoi for inspection. It took several days to know if the quality was okay, and if it was not okay, they had to reshoot. Girls born and raised in Hanoi like People’s Artist Nhu Quynh had to live for 6 months in the coastal area of Hai Hau (Nam Dinh) to learn how to work and fish professionally like the people of the coastal area…
As a film with a theme that is considered very new, even somewhat adventurous at the present time, "Saint's Day" is like a "new breeze" for Vietnamese revolutionary cinema in the 1970s.
Episode 1 of the film was broadcast on VTV3 channel right after the talk show, episode 2 was shown on VTVgo platform.
