By reaching the final of the 2024 Australian Open, Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev are closing in on Novak Djokovic in the rankings of the International Tennis Association (ATP).

Jannik Sinner has been ranked in the top 4 in the world since 2023, but he is significantly narrowing the gap with the players above him. In the ATP rankings released on January 29, the Italian player has 8,310 points, far ahead of the 5th ranked Andrey Rublev (5,050 points).
Due to failing to defend his Grand Slam title in Australia, Djokovic was deducted 1,200 points but still kept the top spot in the ATP rankings.
Currently, Nole is only 600 points ahead of Carlos Alcaraz (ranked 2nd), 1,090 points ahead of 3rd place Medvedev and has a gap of 1,545 points with Sinner.
The top 10 men's singles rankings have 4 changes compared to before the 2024 Australian Open took place.
2023 tournament runner-up Stefanos Tsitsipas (Greece) was deducted 1,000 points, dropping to 10th place. Holger Rune (Denmark), Hubert Hurkacz (Poland), Taylor Fritz (USA) all made strong progress.
Behind, British player Cameron Norrie returned to the top 20, the top 30 has the presence of two new players, Tomas Etcheverry (Argentina) and Tallon Griekspoor (Netherlands).
After winning the 2024 Australian Open, Jannik Sinner withdrew from the ATP 250 Open 13 Provence tournament in Marseille (France) from February 5-11. The organizers announced Sinner's withdrawal but did not disclose the reason and chose Alexander Zverev as his replacement.
