The only goal of the match was scored by Nguyen Khac Khiem in the 28th minute after a header into the top corner of Hue's goal.

With the 3 points this time, coach Bui Huu Thai Son and his team not only reclaimed the debt from the first leg (lost 1-3) but also took the second-to-last position from Hue and pushed their opponents to the bottom of the table after round 14.

This is the first victory of Dong Nai Club after 12 matches (because the tournament has 11 teams, each team rests 1 round) lasting from October 2024 to present.

Before this round, Dong Nai was the worst team in the Vietnamese professional football league system, winning only 6 points after 6 draws and 6 losses.

The 2024/25 National First Division is the second tournament in the professional system, ranked after the V.League and higher than the National Second Division. The tournament takes 1.5 promotion spots and 1 relegation spot.

In addition to Hue and Dong Nai, Hoa Binh Club is also at risk of falling into the relegation race, ranking 9th with 9 points and 1 match left to play.
