According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vinh Phuc province, in 2024, in the homeland, households have built 6 more organic fruit tree production models, 4 organic medicinal plant production models, 5 rice models, 3 livestock models and 420 hectares of organic vegetables... The total budget to support the development of organic agricultural production and organic orientation in 2024 in Vinh Phuc province is more than 8.5 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Duong, Director of Vinh Phuc Provincial Agricultural Extension Center, said: Organic agriculture has now become a fairly widespread development movement in Vinh Phuc. That is because since 2019, when implementing the Government's Decree on organic agriculture, Vinh Phuc was the pioneer province to issue a decision approving the plan for organic agricultural production and following the organic direction.
“Every year, Vinh Phuc province supports a portion of organic fertilizers, biological pesticides and herbs to encourage farmers to build pilot models of organic farming, livestock farming and rice production by supporting microbial products and promoting propaganda, training and dissemination of knowledge to develop organic agriculture in the area.
Thanks to that, by 2023, Vinh Phuc has formed a safe vegetable production area with a total area of over 4,800 hectares in 71 communes, wards and towns. Many organic agricultural models have been formed in all districts and cities in the province. In the period of 2021 - 2023, Vinh Phuc has supported 267 tons of biological products, 2,520 tons of biological bedding to treat the environment for 15,363 livestock households with a scale of 21.5 million chickens, 350,000 pigs, 5,000 dairy cows and 2,800 beef cattle...", Mr. Duong shared.

Recently, through the inspection of organic agricultural models in Vinh Phuc, the working group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development assessed that after 5 years of building organic agricultural models, Vinh Phuc has shown clear efficiency in both economy and environment. For example, the livestock and crop farming model of Mr. Nguyen Van Mai and Mrs. Pham Thi Hao's family in Trai Lon area (Tam Hong town, Yen Lac district).
Every year, Mr. Mai's family raises 10 sows and more than 200 pigs, and after deducting expenses, they earn about 1.5 million VND/pig. What's special is that from the source of biological bedding in livestock farming, his family uses it to compost organic fertilizer for the 150-tree grapefruit garden, combined with digging a pond to raise fish to create a modern closed garden - pond - barn (VAC) model.
“Economically, we earn about 300 million VND each year, but more importantly, switching to organic farming makes us feel healthier, the land healthier, and the environment visibly improved,” Mr. Mai said excitedly.
Similar to Mr. Mai and Mrs. Hao's family, in Vinh Phuc province, there are more and more circular agricultural models, new-age VAC models.

Examples include the family of Mr. Nang Van Hiep in Bo Ly commune, Tam Dao district; the organic rice cooperative model in Tan Phong (Binh Xuyen district); the model of 3 hectares of Morinda officinalis, 4 hectares of yellow tea flowers in Tam Dao district; 2 hectares of black grapes in Yen Lac district; 10 hectares of red dragon fruit in Lap Thach district...; the organic pig farming model with a scale of 1,500 heads in Binh Xuyen, Tam Dao, Tam Duong, Lap Thach and Yen Lac districts; the organic chicken farming model with a scale of 2,000 heads in Dong Que commune (Song Lo district)...
Although many results have been achieved and there have been clear changes, the Vinh Phuc Department of Agriculture and Rural Development assessed that organic agricultural production in the province still has limitations such as small scale, product variety is not rich, not commensurate with the potential and advantages of the province...
Therefore, to continue implementing the Project on Organic Agriculture Development and Organic Orientation in Vinh Phuc Province for the period 2023 - 2025, with a vision to 2030, recently, the People's Committee of Vinh Phuc Province has issued a Plan to implement the project on organic agriculture development and organic orientation in the province in 2025.
The objective of this Plan is to build 6 organic fruit tree models, each model is 2 hectares including dragon fruit, grapefruit, banana, guava, custard apple; build 4 medicinal plant models with a scale of 1 hectare/model including yellow camellia and Morinda officinalis. Build 5 models of quality rice production in the organic direction with a scale of 200 hectares (20 hectares/model/2 crops/year) in Vinh Tuong, Yen Lac, Lap Thach, Song Lo districts.
Along with that, Vinh Phuc will also support the construction of 500 hectares of organic vegetables annually, building organic pig farming models with 300 pigs in the districts of Tam Dao, Lap Thach, Song Lo, Tam Duong, Yen Lac, Vinh Tuong; a model of raising broiler chickens with a scale of 2,000 pigs/year...

The total budget to support the development of organic agricultural production and organic orientation in 2025 of Vinh Phuc province is more than 46,605 billion VND, of which the provincial budget supports 9,963 billion VND and 36,642 billion VND is counterpart money of participating establishments.
“By 2025, the organic farming area of Vinh Phuc province will reach about 1% of the total farming area with key crops; the rate of organic pork and chicken products will reach about 1% of the total livestock products in the area; the organic aquaculture area will reach about 0.5% of the total area.
For natural medicinal products, the ratio of organic output to total output is about 90%, for intensive farming, the ratio of organic output to total output is about 75%. The efficiency of organic production per unit area of land for cultivation and aquaculture is about 1.3 times higher than that of non-organic production,” the Vinh Phuc Province Plan stated.
