On the morning of February 14, tens of thousands of people and tourists flocked to the stadium in Hai Luu commune, Song Lo district, Vinh Phuc province to witness the final round of the traditional buffalo fighting festival.
At around 7am, more than 20,000 spectators were present to watch the final round of the festival.
This year's festival has 10 pairs of buffaloes participating, representing villages, wards and organizations in the commune, competing in a knockout format.
The fighting buffaloes, also known as "Mr. Cau", are carefully raised for the past year. The buffaloes that win the quarter-final and semi-final matches will advance to the final round to compete for first, second and third place.

The match ended, many buffaloes were still "aggressively" chasing and goring their opponents, making it difficult for the buffalo owners and referees to restrain them.

At 10:30, the final match is a confrontation between two "Mr. Cau" number 04 and number 20. To enter the final match, each Mr. Cau must win 4 matches.
After 10 minutes of probing each other, the two buffaloes charged at each other with their signature moves.
After many situations of horns and jaws, "Mr. Cau" number 20 gained the upper hand. With dangerous attacks, blood gradually flowed all over the buffalo's head.
Buffalo No. 20 lifted the opponent, forcing Buffalo No. 04 to run around the field. In the end, Mr. Do Van Do's buffalo won the championship. Previously, Buffalo No. 20 was highly regarded for its tactical play in the quarter-finals and semi-finals.
Supporters and buffalo owner Do Van Do rushed down to the field to celebrate when buffalo number 20 won this year's championship.
After the competition, some buffaloes were butchered on the spot. The price of each kilogram of Hai Luu fighting buffalo ranges from 500,000 VND to 2.5 million VND. The champion buffalo alone costs from 5 to 7 million VND/kg.
